I just purchased a Joe Porper wand: green with ebony tips. I like just carrying it around. I don't have much experience with different wands, but this feels so good and I've been learning the Vernon wand spin with it.
Any thoughts about ebony vs white tips as far as misdirection goes? Any particular thoughts on the beauty of wands in general? |

Enjoy!
You may want to seek out a book called, "The Magician's Wand: A History of Mystical Rods of Power," by Joe Lantiere. It might still be available here: http://oldeworldmagick.com/owm.htm Description: "The history, construction and uses of the magician's wand and similar rods of power from early to modern times. Includes information on ceremonial wands, the caduceus, Shaman wands, wands with crystals, conjurors' wands, tridents, daggers and much much more. There is no other book like it on the market! The book is 150 pages, soft cover, perfect bound, almost 200 illustrations."
"Is there any point to which you would wish to draw my attention?"
"To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time." "The dog did nothing in the night-time." "That was the curious incident," remarked Sherlock Holmes. |

I like lighter tips as it's more visually striking. I have a light maple wand with ebony tips and against dark clothing it looks about three inches shorter than it really is.
No trees were killed in the making of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Thanks Donnie, there are some amazing testimonials and reviews coming in.
I have a couple of Porper wands, and very nice they are too. Joe knows his stuff! |
