Well you can assume anything you want. It was aimed at politicians who want to say Bush sucked, but you can cherry pick dates and show he was brilliant. It was aimed at those who said Clinton sucked, yet others can claim victory when it is looked at from here to there.
Assume if you like John but no it was not aimed at you. It is aimed at the "gotcha" bs that passes for intelect of late. It is all crap and all aimed at not the seeking of the best option but at furthering an agenda.

If it's something you think I would be better at finding than you, then please state it more clearly, because I'm not sure what you mean. Are you referring to the 2009 Employment Insurance changes that * increased the period of eligibility by 5 weeks * extended the length of work sharing agreements * increased benefits for long-tenure workers * froze premium rates for 2010 * increased the staff size to speed up benefit processing I don't think much has changed since then. But is that the legislation change you are talking about? John

Canada had its triple A rating cut in 1992. Back then, the Wall Street Journal called Canada “an honorary member of the Third World.”
Canada won its triple A rating back within about a decade, and today is said to be the best managed / soundest economy in the Western Hemisphere. How did that happen? The Liberal government in the 1990s had the support of the conservative opposition to make the changes that were needed. The changes needed were a combination of spending cuts AND tax increases. "Ottawa’s chosen route back to surplus involved both spending cuts and tax hikes, in a ratio of roughly seven to one." (Not positive that statement is very accurate, see below for why, but the point is that both cuts and significantly increased taxes were a part of the solution.) http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Politics/201......971.html A little more here: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424......612.html Something the articles above fail to point out and is relevant, is that circa 1989-1991 the Conservative government in Canada at the time introduced the Goods and Services tax. Apparently this led to significantly increased tax revenue through the 1990s, that helped Canada out of its debt hole. "Although when introduced, net revenue from the GST was about the same as the tax it replaced, it quickly accelerated and is credited by [former Conservative Prime Minister] Brian Mulroney himself as instrumental in slaying the deficit dragon and raising billions for Ottawa." See: http://taxpayer.com/british-columbia/rev......just-gst As the U.S. appears unwilling to make serious cuts OR raise taxes ... let alone both at the same time ... well, good luck to y'all.

Money, like water always seeks it's own level. When the Market goes lower good stocks start to become a bargain and people buy them---the Market then goes up. When the stock becomes pricey people start to sell to take their profits, which in turn starts to lower the price. When something like "economic worries" cause the selling of good stocks you have a wonderful buying opportunity. It's really quite simple. However, and this is important, NEVER try RUSH a buying opportunity. They will come along on their own. Just be ready to buy low---sell high.
