I love the movie 'Pulp Fiction' and find it interesting to explore parts of the movie that would fly past most.
For example, everytime someone is killed, is near death, or the scene is generally exciting, someone is on the toilet. John T. is on the toilet when Marselus' girlfriend OD's, when the resturant is held up, and just before he is killed by Bruce Willis. Are there any other curious things in the movie?

Yeah but they took the kid from the apartment where they went for the briefcase. There was a guy hiding in the toilet there - the one who came out shooting.

I love Pulp Fiction. Heck, I love Quentin Tarantino movies period! I love the way in which he has his characters discussing the STUPIDEST topics, but you hang on their every word. My favorite "story" from Pulp Fiction is The Bonnie Situation. There was a wonderful parody of Pulp Fiction on The Simpsons a few seasons back.

I can't think of any strange occurences like what you mentioned but there are a lot of great lines in this movie for sure.
"You give her the shot"- and the clearly spelled out reason why so and so should be the one to do it. "Mmmmmm that is a tasty burger" And there are so many others. GlenD

Pulp Fiction in my opinion is one of the best movies ever made. Pulp Fiction got me to check out some of Quentin Tarantino's other movies, which in my opinion are some of the best movies made. It is too bad that Quentin Tarantino and Stanley Kubrick did not do a project together, sort of a Pulp Fiction meets A Clockwork Orange type of movie. I only have the standard version on DVD, so I need to get the special edition with the commentaries and the deleted scenes. As far as any pecularites of the movie, I need to go back and carefully watch it again.

It's a strangely hypnotic film. If I start watching it, I just can't stop. Looking forward to "Kill Bill."

The Killians Red neon sign in the pawn shop has only certain letters illuminated spelling "kill ed". The thought is completed when he picks up the big "Z" keychain at the end of the scene—Kill Zed.
The board games in the background of the adrenaline shot scene are Operation and Life. The opening scene in the diner is different in the concluding scene. The body movements and dialogue are slightly off. The continuity is so off that people think Tarantino must have done it intentionally. Apparently to show how moments are subjectively interpreted and remembered.

Quote: Answer: It has been speculated that Vincent and Jules are retrieving Marsellus' soul, which he has sold to the devil, and somehow has stolen back. Christian mythology holds that Satan removes the soul of a human through the back of the neck. As evidence for this, note the bandaid on the back of Marsellus's neck when he's paying Butch to take a dive, and the emphasis that Tarantino places on it.

The Marsellus' soul theory is enticing, but all fluff. The actor playing Marcellus really did cut the back of his neck by accident before shooting the scene, but Tarantino thought the band-aid worked visually and left it in. The most honest explanation for what's in the briefcase is "whatever you want it to be."

Wow I like the soul thing, I'm going with that.
I, rather unimaginatively, always assumed the gold thing in the brief-case was...um...gold. |

Quote: I picked up on the scene change in the diner. Since there would be no reason to film the scence twice, I figure it must have been intentional. The other two things I never noticed! The "Life" and "Operation" games being in the OD scene is cool!On 2003-09-01 16:26, Platt wrote:

At the opening scene in one shot you can see Vincent (John T.) went to toilet! And before that you can overhear the talking of Jules and Vincent.
Such a great movie, the foot massage scene had me chuckle everytime. "Who's Zed?" "Zed's dead baby... Zed's dead." |
