Anybody read this particular book by Kramien? Thoughts on it? I own Kaplan's course--and wondered how helpful it would be to have this one in addition?

I have them both and Kaplan's information is, by far, a better book. Kaplan sells Show me the money for $350 and Kramien sells it for $100 on his web site.
Stan Kramien's book Show me the money is on and about telemarketing. Cold Calling and asking for money for the Souvineer Booklet and for purchasing blocks of tickets. With today's laws and Do Not Call lists, you might find yourself in court paying thousands in fines. Stan Kramien suggest in his book to have a good attorney and always deal with the legal issues as they crop up. True, Stan works hard at telemarketing with an a legimate office and a staff of telemarketer so he does less shows, however, telemarking at this level and intensity is a whole other business which I choose not to get involved. Having all of Stans books, I find Kaplan's books are the best in the "How to Run Fund Raisers". Kaplain's method is intense to learn and gather the necessary equipment is costly, however, his other fund raising shows, Night Magic, Stage Fright, and the Magic of Christmas refer to his core program guide. The key to success in the Kaplan method is to get your foot in the door and offer a quality family-fun illusion show. If you want to have a smaller show, then one of the other programs may be for you. Kaplan has detailed the below ten step process to run a successful fund raising program:
For example #5 above Kaplan offers 30 detailed Piggyback fundraisers to make to ensure the client makes money and the program is a success. He also tells you how to sell these additional fund raisers.
Kaplan offers 16 methods where clients can easily sell tickets:
Kaplan offers 35 methods to advertise:
And Kaplan Offers 25 methods to promote the event:
All the above and much much more is detailed in Kaplan's Main Course, and his newsletters which can be located at Kaplain's Fund Raising Magic Web Site It took a while to sort though the massive amount of information to come up with the above lists. Kaplan offers all the clip art and examples and samples on CD so you can fully understand his program. My goal is to duplicate Kaplan success, using his tried and true methods.

Thanks for the comments Dennis. And yes, I noticed the ENORMOUS discrepency between the two sites.
It would be interesting to spend some time talking with you at some point. I'm curious to see what you've found that works and what you've found that doesn't. I think some of his stuff is a bit dated or even 'cheesy,' but some of it is REALLY quite good. BTW, Your list is more exhaustive than what I have in my book, and my book is not that old. Is your's fairly recent? Brian |

My books are the same as yours. The lists include extractions from all of his newsletters, and maybe a couple of his other fund raising programs. I also added a couple which I thought of as I was developing my own program guide.
Yes some of it seems dated and some would never be used.

But, when run properly--legitimately--you can make a fortune from it. Most BIG circuses still use telemarketing. Next time a circus comes to town, go see it and count the people in there. Then, multiply that by ten and then by the ticket price. Kramien always has been a supporter of legitimate business practices. He abhors fly-by-night artists. I love Kramien. His stuff is well with the pittance he charges. Get it. Tell him Blair sent ya! (Kaplan's stuff is top notch. He's very successful, got a terrific system and makes a fortune from it. You can't go wrong there.... but your question was about Kramien). Blair Stage Hypnosis Secrets Revealed:www.Mental-List.com/masterhypnosis.htm |

Thanks Dennis for the detailed layout of Kaplan's program. Kaplan's own sales page doesn't make you understand everything that you will get out of this package.
I'm getting into fundraising using Geoffrey Ronnings Service Club Package. Start slow and build up.
