Is there an appearance illusion that is easy to build and not complicated? Thanks!

I just released my Briefcase Illusion plans - can be used with an assistant or with assistant. Easy to build and very easy to set up and pack down. Once it's built you can put set this up together in less than 5 minutes and pack down in less than 2 minutes. Designed to pack flat and play big. So many possibilities from an appearance to a vanish. Basic effect - magicians walks on stage with a briefcase and produces assistant from it.
Magic shops are now selling these as pre-order but should be available in 2 weeks time.

Check it out here: http://www.murphysmagic.com/Search.aspx?ps=1

Top 5 favorite (not to horribly difficult) to build illusions. This is assuming that you have some building skills. If you do not, the Victory Carton Illusion from Mark Wilson's Course of Magic, is probably where you should start. Also Paul Osbourne has a great idea in his "Easy to Build Illusions" book. You take 4 panels and put them together onstage and you or your assistant can appear. Here are my top five, if you have moderate building skills:

1. Shadow Box (Wing Version)
2. Blammo
3. Modern Cabinet
4. The Artist's Dream
5. Bryce's Screen

Plans for each one of these illusions can be obtained from Paul Osbourne's website. Good luck! Smile

I forgot to mention the book comes with 2D and 3D plans plus photos and includes all measurements - an easy to build weekend project for sure. I've been performing this for almost 20 years now around the world. There is also a video link you get (with password) in the book so you can see me set it up and pack it down etc.

Dean what are the parameters? Are you a theater show, a corporate show? I've got a few pdf's and such out as well and I can make a recommendation with or without any of mine, but I think we need more info.

Tell us more about your show Smile

Just had an enquiry on the desk illusion again. The great thing about the desk is that it can be performed almost surrounded!! I've performed it in almost every working condition from corporates to theatre shows to in the round performances. With this you aren't limited to only vanishing or appearing from the briefcase. We recently built one for a magician who wanted to make a person appear but not from the case. They use the desk throughout their show to put items in and out with the drawers, and then at the end, standing well away from the desk they produce a girl with a cloth.
At FISM in 1997 we used it to vanish two people - again away from the actual desk. So with this illusion you are limited by your imagination - which makes it a very practical prop to have.

I saw many of them on Mark Wilson's "Complete Course In Magic". If You buy the book You can find many good ideas easy to build.
