I have just read Volume 2 of TC Tahoe's re-think series about chair tests. In his manuscript he offers two methods that are very simple in method and direct to the point.
I have read a lot about the topic and many of the chair tests available are too complicated in my opinion and therefore to hard to follow for the spectator. The ad states that „Here are TWO of the most direct Chair Tests possible. They are visual and EASY! Easy in both method and for the audience to follow [...]“. So this caught my interest. In both versions TC uses very well known methods in a clever way to achieve exactly what he told us. An easy to follow chair test. And that alone makes them worth to read! It doesn't need countless props, envelopes and complicated procedures to entertain your audience. Sometimes it's important to remember such little facts in serach of the holy grail. The first effect called „Litlle miss muffet“ is for three people on stage whereas the second one, called „Pick my seat“, is only for one spectator. Both can be shown on small or large stages. I personally like chair tests in which ONE prediction reveals exactly where a spectator is sitting. So the first one wasn't really for me but nevertheless a solid and easy to do version. Within the script of the performer I found a priceless funny sentence to make sure that everyone is satisfied with the chair he is sitting in. In reality this gets a good laugh and will go right into my own chair test. The second test fits more my criteria of a good chair test and has the advantage that it packs even smaller then the first one and plays big just as well! A chair test couldn't be simpler. You already own all you need and it will take you less then five minutes to set it up. All in all I can recommend the ebook to all the chair test lovers as well as everyone who is in search of a solid peace of mentalism that packs small and plays big. I will use none of the effects as described but got great inspiration from the simplicity of the tests. Further the above mentioned sentence was quite good and found it's way into my own version! You can find TC's ebook at lybrary (http://www.lybrary.com/tahoe-rethinks-chair-test-p-114575.html) for 15 US-Dollar. If you have any further questions fell free to ask me or contact TC via pm. I am sure he will answer your questions fast and to complete satisfaction. He is a very kind guy! Best, Dominik |

I too enjoyed TC's routine. There were some run-on sentences, misspellings, and missing words in the PDF that about drove me up a wall, but overall I liked the effect. You can find my complete review here if you're interested: http://www.calebwilesmagic.com/?p=2514
