I love Banachek. This man is responsible for one of my favorite all-time (of many, many years) impromptu pieces, PK Time. Not to mention PK Touches being a great piece as well. I'd certainly say he's good, and for quite a lot of things too. On the other hand, I did choose the "Love in the Wild" finale as the go-to show last night (gulp) but that was to please the whole family.
Fine I liked it too. But now I'll go watch the man of the hour. |

Loved the show, especially the syvia brown segment, I deeply dislike her type and there are a few, shame on montel williams for repeatedly having her as a guest and proclaiming her to be the real thing, when she has caused so much heartbreak

I'm really glad that everyone waited until the show aired to post comments rather than rush to judgement. This allows intelligent discussion.
I shudder to think what kind of back and forth might have taken place if opinions were sent flying about prematurely. |

The show aired in some locales on the 16th.
The very first post in this thread occurred AFTER the first airing of the show. .............that's why the Jim began his post with "did anybody see the show last night.........." Seems the technologically challenged here may not realize that TV no longer has to air everywhere at exactly the same time |

Actually I believe the "Nightline" short segment viewed on the 16th and the full show of the 17th. Network television airs its shows nationally on the same date.
I won't dignify "technologically challenged" with a response so that this thread doesn't degenerate as so many do. |

Yeah, fair enough........ and I won't dignify the comments made earlier implying that some here were making their statements having not seen what Banachek was actually doing on the show.

It would be better in my opionion to send the links to a couple of your non-magic-O freinds and see what they think of it. It kills me that so few will do even that but will offer up a bunch of non-researched opinion. So far I have heard back from 6 people. At least I ask a question and look for an answer. Ah...if [quote]TV has a very little traction in the minds of the public anymore. [\quote] is true, then there can be no harm....which means this thread was started why?

Woo-Hoo someone exposed psychics and understood that they do not have to expose magic tricks for the goal. Randi never could figure that out. Keep up the good work Banachek. I will always support good people doing good things as long as it only hurts bad people.

To answer your question Jim, because it's all been said before. In short, there's nothing new in this "conversation" at all. This type of meaningless "debate" simply keeps all parties stuck in the mud on their own side of the discussion. In truth, if the thread wasn't directed at a good friend, I wouldn't have bothered to say anything at all.

In my opinion, at the end, the blind faith in the paranormal is superior to rational thinking.
Exposure will always exist and he is in his own right.

Kambiz,
I'm not saying that there is no "possibility" that a real psychic exists---I'm just saying to date I know of not a single one. I also realize I don't know it all and for that reason I stated in my last post that The Magic Castle has had a long standing offer to any and all "psychics". Lets say you are correct in your view that they don't do it for money (which I'd like to know how you know this) I still believe if they are really trying to help people would they not take the offer if for no other reason to show people they are actually on the up and up? I know if I were a real psychic I'd want people to see that I'm the real deal and NOT a fraud. Anyway I'll keep an open mind but I must also hold on to my common sense. I will say this before I became interested in mentalism and magic I really did wonder how those psychics knew those things. But now that seems like ages ago. Good magic to all, Eric |
