Hi All.
I'm looking for effects using the above gimmicks. Can anyone direct me to sources, where can I find some great routines using these gimmicks? Thanks, Daniel |

For the Sun and Moon set, there is an excellent source in the book Modern Coin Magic by J.B. Bobo, and seek out David Neighbors on this forum - he has quite a few routines available for things you can do with it. As far as the Copper/Silver, those can be found in just about any good book of coin work, such as Expert Coin Magic by David Roth, any videos from Michael Rubinstein, David Neighbors, Mike Gallo, Troy Hooser, the Bobo book (again), the Al Schneider Technique, and the list just goes on. Check out the coin videos from Marion Boykin (mb127 on this forum) and others at http://www.vinnymarini.com and you will find some there as well.
I hope this information is useful to you. |

Here is something I always thought beautiful.
I present this with the idea the Sun and Moon is a copper [ with nesting gim and silver [ with nesting gim. If not then this is even better. Hold the copper set in one hand and silver set in the other hand. Slide them so they change. If that is not enough, someone else here can clarify or recommend one of the above. Here is what I want to discuss. Getting into the position to do this is a bit tricky. Also there is potential confusion of where the copper and silver are. This is becasue two things are going on at the same time. This can be resolved by using a silver and copper (brown) handkerchief. Load the gims into the hanks in a position the hanks can be unfolded ready to do the routine. Set it up so silver coin shows in the silver hank and the copper shows in the copper colored hank. You fingers of both hands are pointing upward and the coins are held at the tips of the fingers at the top of each. Then do the color change for each. Because the coin match the color of the hanks, the audience can discern easily the transposition. Do it slow. I think this is one of the most beautiful routines in magic. Is this an Al Goshman idea. Anyway, it could easily be a feature in a sit down show. It could be done walk around if it was all coordinated to reset itself. For purists, used locking sets. Then all could be immediately passed out. Or it would be great with music. Just an idea. Al Schneider
Magic Al. Say it fast and it is magical.

I even get people to scream in those settings with this, all because of that contrast between the coins and the silk handkerchiefs. This is something I have also done with copper and silver-colore sheer handkerchiefs, which makes the changes ever more visible and visual... Thanks for that post Al! |

You might want to look at Klause's Soleil et lune in The Collected Almanac.

You could also look at New York coin magic seminar vol.4 (my personal favorite for c/s routines).
There are lots of great copper/silver routines and a sun and moon routine by Geoff Latta.

David Roth Ultimate Coin Magic Collection volume 1 is on the C/S coin and an expanded shell.
http://www.llpub.com/zenshop/index.php?m......_id=1492 There are only a 3 routines with the C/S coin. But you could use the shells in the sun and moon for the lots of the other tricks. |
