Hi, hope I'm posting in the right place...?
It is one of the 'latest and greatest' effects on the market that I am referring to it seems...that said has anyone had problems with the accompanying DVD with Tool? Mine just don't wanna play ball...it allowed me to watch the 'performance' of the 1st effect (in English) then when I went to the 'solution' there was no sound at all....but it got worse from that point! Now all I can do is view the 2 first 'Set Up' windows, in either French or English (so not that bad!!) that just contain the text of how to ready the kit for go!
Have to say I know mistakes happen but I am really frustrated (and other language not used here)....have waited a while to get my hands on this, ordered direct from from France as everyone had sold out...it finally arrives and I cannot use it (other than devising my own routines- so maybe no bad thing to get the old juices flowing in the cerebral cortex...or there abouts!)

I opened the package and was very impressed with the quality and workmanship of the props, extremely well made I thought...shame about the f*%$*ng DVD!!!
Anyone else? Bad DVD batch or just my rotten luck?!

(Please take no offence David Stone..I love it, which is exactly why I am so annoyed!!)

Apologies to all...esp David Stone. I felt maybe its a little unfair of me to air my problems here without even discussing it with David...all I was referring to is a problem with the DVD....I felt compelled to post here because I was so frustrated as it is such a great bit of kit, extremely well made but I cannot access the fabulous routines after waiting for it to come all the way from France!! I did just try and change the post but the site will not allow me to edit it as it is saying its been longer than 30 mins since I posted it.

Hope I have not made too much of a faux pas!!

Ok, I tried the DVD in the computer where it appears to work as it should, but I am still disappointed it does not work in my DVD player for some reason...tho no biggy, I was pleased to be able to access it. But then.....aaaargh!!! Upon further examination I find problems with my 2 cases as well...once assembled I can barely get a full pack in the box! I just manage to squeeze 52 cards in but getting them out is a real effort and would not look at all good in performance!! I thought it might be my fault for sticking the final assembly bottom flaps down too far/too tight but I adjusted it and it appears it is actually a result of where the side flap was initially glued together before they got to me...neither box will take a full 52 cards comfortably...they can be pushed in with force but getting them out when they are so tightly squeezed in is terrible......now I am really sad cos other than these issues its an awesome prop.
I post here not to 'harass' David Stone or be a killjoy, but to ask if anyone else has these problems....I've not seen anyone saying as such so maybe its just me being precious and I should just use 50 cards or do whatever is needed to adapt to the prop? As a relative newbie I have to ask, am I being a picky and inexperienced newbie moaning over slight matters that should be easily overcome by anyone with any level of know how or skill...or do I have a valid gripe?!
(And now I have to send David *another* email...sorry David!)

I have exactly the same problem with the card case. I too thought I'd assembled it wrong, for some reason, but it is the box that is too small. You cannot get near 52 cards in the deck. So the card shark routhine that requires the deck and the gimmick in the box at the outset (to justify setting the deck down on the table) is unworkable, unless you use a deck of 45 cards. Not ideal. I love the trick and some of the routines are great but I am very disappointed that the deck is not fit for the purpose. The same gimmick with Solo does not have this problem, with that deck you can get up 56 cards in that deck. I thought it was just me !

It's not that the box is small, it's that the gimmick takes up the space of several cards. I'm not sure I see the problem with that... Working with a partial or even gaffed deck (that might be missing a great many normal cards) doesn't seem like a predicament. If you were going to utilize the deck afterward to do some things that required all the cards, you would want to keep them separate and drop them in for your next effect, after the Tool gimmick is disposed of.

I did not have a problem with the DVD on my copy, but I seem to remember that the way you advance through the various routines might be a little confusing. Once you have the gimmick in your hands, you can actually just watch the performance videos. The explanations are somewhat irrelevant, you can infer the method pretty easily.

But the *gimmick* does not go inside the box...I'm talking about putting a normal 52 piece deck in the case. Unless you mean they have taken into account how thick the gimmick is and so made the pack a tiny bit slimmer to account for that?? That would, to me, seem like a bit of a mistake!

It seems ok in my computer, but not in my stand alone DVD player...so that's not really much of a problem...its the not being able to use a full deck that has niggled me as I was under the impression that ya could use a normal deck.

When you consider that a normal deck now accommodates 56 cards (two jokers and two advertising cards) it is disappointing that this deck will not hold more than 47-48 cards. Any more and its battle to remove them.

The Solo deck is actually better, as is the gimmick card. It is indistinguishable from the bicycle face of the deck.

The Tool routines are great and worthy of the cost, but the props were as good as Solo and hold a full deck.
