I recently acquired Viking Magic's brass nest of boxes and the smallest box is quarter sized. Being new to magic and just starting to think about building a set or routine, I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas or references to direct me to, to incorporate these nice looking coin boxes. Thanks so much for your help.

You can use those boxes for just about anything that will fit into the smallest box, including finger rings.

The usual manner in which these props are used goes something like this: The magician goes about performing other effects, and when the time is appropriate, the magician borrows the coin, ring, or whatever object they may be using. The moment gets played up a little to build suspense and drama/anxiety before the object is vanished. The performer continues as if nothing happened by performing one or two more effects, at the end of which they show the borrowed object inside the nest of boxes.

The routines into which you incorporate these boxes are limited only by your imagination. Michael Rubinstein has a great routine using a nest of boxes on the New York Coin Magic DVDs and I like using that from time to time as a stand-alone routine. It is uses a Sub Trunk theme, and he posted it just recently in the Nothing Up My Sleeve section of this forum. Here is the link to that performance:

I hope this information is useful to you.
