This utility has transformed my "Anniversary Waltz" into a mind-shredding miracle. Thank you, Jeff! They go through the deck and shuffle it themselves at least 3 times before the load occurs. They never know what hit them when the fused selections are revealed.

I am not sure that there is anything left to say about this, but here goes. I just received mine and it is exactly what I thought it would be, after reading through this thread. I am happy to say that the design and quality are excellent. It is virtually indedectable when worn.
It is not self working inasmuch as you will need to practice with it a bit, so don't expect to open the package and run out into the street to amaze everyone immediately. One or two simple controls and a move is all it takes. I am a rightie, but I honestly don't believe a lefty would have much trouble adapting. In fact, I am working on a beginning that would involve using my right hand holding the deck at the critical moment rather than my left (as would be normal for a rightie.) It uses the Ovette/Kelly move as mentioned above and which is described in the May 2011 issue of Genii in the Magicana section. Briefly, the Sharpie is given to the spectator first, I do a riffle selection and hold the upper half of the deck in my right hand while he initials the face of his selection. The O/K move is made and I am ready to do the load as soon as I make the necessary break. I see the advantage in this as me not needing to "handle" the deck before giving it to the spectator. The card is already where I want it although apparently in the middle of the deck. I will practice with this and if it works well I will put a more detailed explanation on the UCCU owners forum. If not, I will deny ever having thought of it. If cost is an issue, just consider that this is an item that you will actually use if you do any card magic at all. ADDED: It occurs to me that if a left-hander were to do the moves I describe above in his normal manner, he would end up with the deck in the same position as a right-hander doing the "normal" moves. Waddayaknow?

UPDATE: We will have white UCCU's available next week at thekayloroption.com in the member's area.
We are also having a small run of reversed UCCU's for those lefty's who are ambitious and want to alter their shirts or find a shirt that buttons up the "lefty" way. I'm almost done with the first lefty video.. hope to finish it this weekend one I get back to Orlando - Driving up the coast from Boston now! Check out this week's World Product review - David uses the UCCU to force a card from a shuffled deck - it is the second trick they are demoing. |

Got mine and LOVE it...ideas are going on the UCCU forum. Everyone else should support the owners forum on his site too. No need to discuss all the ideas here.

Jeff, how about a slightly larger UCCU for jackets (suit, sports jacket, etc.)? The other advantage would be that it would be slightly larger and easier to load. Also, it wouldn't matter whether you're wearing a shirt, T-shirt, whatever (or whatever color) under the jacket.

The problem with the slightly larger UCCU is that all jackets have different button lengths. One Idea I have is to extend the length of the top of the gimmick and add a second button hole above the existing one. Would this work in your case Robaire, or would it have to be more spaced out?

I like the idea of perhaps having 2 button holes to choose from in the gimmick. Absolutely!
While I wouldn't use it for a jacket - it certainly would be helpful for those of us who wear vests as I find my vest button lengths are a bit shorter than the traditional shirt.

These reviews have been super helpful, but now I face a dilemna. I can afford to either buy this or his original TKO. Any thoughts? Versatility, ease of use etc.? Not worried about the sewing.
Thanks as always. |

It's all going to come down to what you're using it for. If you're a coin worker - TKO all the way. Clean vanishes.
Everything else - UCCU wins out. While it may be tweaked to allow for a coin to vanish Here or there - its not as reliable in that regards as TKO. it is a beautiful utity that spans beyond cards as well!

I'm not into sewing but, as long as the top button hole does up would it not be possible to have a longer type button hole for the bottom button, this would then allow you to push either your shirt button through or a waistcoat (vest) button, kinda like a slot, this would allow for all type fittings. Not sure if this would work but it's an idea maybe worth trying?

I tried something similar to that and if the button holes are larger it brings up other issues. The fabric would stick out and the pocket wouldn't be as stable. With TKO there are multiple button holes on the bottom and that works really well, but if you put 2 button holes on the bottom of UCCU, then the card loses some of the smooth surface that the plastic insert creates. If the button holes were up top, I think this would be the best for the vest.. I'll work on that.

Hi guys,
Forgive me for not reading the last 24 pages but...how many and what type of cards can be controlled with the UCCU? Would this work for an ultra clean Gypsy curse routine? |

There is a video in the member's forum that teaches how to retrieve all the cards in the UCCU at the same time.

Jeff, that might work. Depending on the spacing of the 2 button holes it might fit a jacket or vest. That would be awesome for my performances. As it is, I can only use the UCCU for close up. I wear a black suit and white T-Shirt or mock sweater under it.

Can I just say how extremely happy to see all of the positivity surrounding this utility device.
Simply the U.C.C.U. is the Swiss Army Knife of card magic. I use it for different things on diffrent days to suit my needs. I can use it for controls and ditches one day and I can use it for pocket management or ringing in gaffs the next. The best part is, from instalation to coming up with your own uses, nothing is complicated about it at all. I am really proud of Jeff for this one. Thank you. Anton |
