I've noticed that a Silk I got recently has a sort of grippy/sticky feel and is more crisp feeling rather than slick, silky or supple. I've also noticed Silk shirts now-a-days have the same feel to them, almost like some of the Micro-Fibre cloth feels.
Is this a difference anyone else has noticed? Is it the silk, or is there a conditioner I could use? I did wash out the sizing. -Mary Mowder |

There are a lot of different silk weaves. I use Haboti only. But there are twills, satin, sandwashed and lot of other ones.
If you wash it out, put a drop (only a drop of fabric softener) in the rinse water. It will eliminate static and soften the silk. Richard BTW This was not one of my silks, was it? I have to wash the sizing out before dyeing, or the dye does not take properly.

Good to know about the weave, Richard. I got a few silks with an effect from Abbott's some time ago, and they are more "satiny" than my others. I thought it was because they were a thicker momme.

A heavier momme can give the appearance of more satiny, as they have more fibers to make them look and feel as such.
