If you are holding the box up for the reveal, the position of the fingers is irrelevant. I agree that the effect resembles an Etch-a-Sketch, but erasing a drawing is not the same as changing one drawing to another, and Etch-a-Sketch does not use ink that can be rubbed off later on. .

I created an effect using a magna doodle (yet to be released)that looks VERY similar to this. Mine, however is for stand up and not visual, but the same end result. A missed prediction that magically changes.
Guru, I think you are VERY close to the method here and would bet everyone will like this gimmick.

I'm surprised there is not more buzz about this. looks great but not really sure what to make of it.

I'm not surprised as looking at the Demo I have No Idea what the Effect is?

Really maybe you should watch it again!

Thanks to Steve who did explain what it's all about

I must say it's a good Idea pitty the Demo was not made a bit more clear !

and the fact that there is little buzz,

I think Proves the Point a Simple Demo instead of constant cut aways would have made this more of a talking point than it is at the moment

This must be one of the worse Video Demo's I have seen this Year!

I'm intrigued but it was hard to see what was going on.

The glitz and editing effects now are getting in the way sometimes. I am very curious though.

I cannot see why this demo is considered to be bad. Everything is shown very clearly to me.

Yeah, I gotta say that I'm baffled by the posts saying they don't understand what the effect is. It seems perfectly clear to me -- an animation effect on a card box. You can use it for a card reveal or for something more creative, like the lovely bit where the stick figure hat lifts. I'm not sure what people are asking for in terms of more clarity.

I can see where people are coming from in terms of missing the effect. I saw exactly what it was but it is quite subtle. I could see this as an effect that would sometimes get the big gasps all at once but could also see the gasps kind of ripling through the audience as the realise what has happened at different times. I think if it is practical for close up and easily repeatable, this will be a real winner.

This is a classic example where LESS IS MORE

I hope producers take note as I just want to see the Multi effects or cutaways ,

I am NOT interested in movie Style Trailer.

Just want to see what's going on !

Now that is one of the most magical looking things I have ever seen. I mean think of the ways we normally "magically" change something. Most of them are not anywhere as visual as this.

This may sound off the wall, but I think this is something ol' Doug Henning would have snatched up in a heart beat, having an affinity, as he did, for MAGICAL looking effects.

Yeah. You can probably guess, I always remember ol' Doug.

Anyway, this looks super cool and super visual.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

This looks very nice, not a fan of pre-orders - so will hold off until some reviews are posted.

Hi All

A few have asked if you have the option of using permanent ink on the cellophane..so that the ink stays at the end..with the final "message" being examinable.

The answer is yes.

all is well,

unfortunately, due to the lighting this video makes the method very obvious.

Yes, the method is obvious in this last video. But it was as I supposed it to be, after thinking about this and replaying the original videos. The last video shows some problems with the vividness of the ink, which the earlier videos do not. So hopefully this is a side effect of his lighting and not the gimmick itself. I plan to get this; spectators are not going to be able to figure this out, if the writing is handled properly, in such a way as permits them to wipe it off after the reveal (as in the videos where Chatelain does the demo).
