Hi , I bought a Gravity Flipper Coin the other day . But I think there could be a problem with it.

From what I have read online , Gravity Flipper Coin's are suppose to stay open when placed in your hand or the table etc , mine instantly snaps shut if I place it on my hand or the table ect.

Also I understand Gravity Flipper Coin's are suppose to open with gravity , mine coin does not do this .

Is is possible I have a problem with my coin ?

Many Thanks

David

Where did you buy it, what brand is it and what does it say on the packaging? It sounds like you might not have a gravity one or the band is too tight.
I am getting so tired of slitting the throats of people who say that I am a violent psychopath.

Definitely not a gravity flipper if it's behaving like that. Better return it.

PM sent your way, cardmagicdavid.

In the interest of offering a solution here to others that may have this problem, try the following:

Replace the band that is currently inside with a brand new one. Make sure it is stretched evenly all the way around, because if it is too tight in any one (or more) spot(s), this can also cause it to close prematurely. Another possibility is that there are two bands in the coin as opposed to one, which would also cause this problem.

Also, check to make sure you have the correct size band, because in this case it may be too small, as they do make different sizes of orthodontic bands (which are what is employed in these types of coins, among others).

If it does not open easily (as a normal, or "gravity" f*****r should) then the edge of the s***l may be dented slightly, preventing the insert from moving freely.

I hope this information is useful to you.
