Most will do more than one; what is your typical way of getting around to longer distances?

Car. The Light Rail Transit route to my office will be completed in 2013 and I'm looking forward to reading and working on sleights on the way to work every day.

There's a bike rack on the car.

Mostly train, biking, or walking. Every month or two, I'll need to rent a car to move something heavy or go someplace kind of far. Of course, it's easy in Boston/Cambridge. There are easily 20 restaurants, a butcher, some small markets, and a large pharmacy within a quarter mile of my house. Go out to half a mile, and there's many more restaurants and two large grocery stores.
It seems I use an airplane about as much as a car... every two months I meet with a client in Chicago, and occasionally travel to other clients. |

Brooklyn to Manhattan where I work, subway. I'm trying to steadily decrease the number of stops it takes me to achieve 8 perfect faros.
Anywhere within Manhattan, generally by subway or bus. Most other places by car.

Car. About 40 miles one way. My son works for me and we carpool. I pay for the gas and he drives.

I would probably drive but I quite like trains.

Car, takes about 15 minutes. Bus would take over an hour, plus I work graveyard and the buses don't run then.

Bus, I haven't had a car in over 20 years. No real position, I just can't afford the upkeep.
I do have a "too small" bicycle that I use when the buses aren't working. (For example, Monday is Labor Day, they have me scheduled to 9:30 because my Mon to Fri availability is 10:00 since that's the last bus during the week. But on holidays they use the Sunday schedule and the last bus is 6:11! So I'll bring the bike and ride home... (hope it's not raining!)

It's an hour drive to campus so I take the car. But I bring my bike on the bike rack so I can ride from class to class when they're far away from each other, and also for riding to the gym from class.
Around town I like to ride my bike or my motorbike whenever possible. But when I have the kids I obviously have to take the car for the car seats.

Car but I have no other choice. When I could I took mass transit (trolley) but the closest bus stop to me is 40 miles away.

It takes me 45 minutes to get to work by bus. It would probably take me 10 by car, but I don't have one nor do I have any plans to get on in the near future, so I simply plan my time better and take the bus.
