Here is the basic effect: two black aces placed respectively at top and bottom of the deck change places with two red aces placed in the middle of the deck.

And here are some references:

1853 in Nouvelle Magie Blanche Dévoilée by Jean-Nicolas Ponsin.On page 136, Section XIII: "Make four cards change places suddenly into the deck twice in a row."

1876 in Modern Magic by Professor Hoffmann. On page 80, "Having placed the four aces in different positions in the pack, to make the two black change places with the two red ones"
