Anyone,

What is the best way to learn the Gallerian Bend? DVD or the Curving Cutlery-Download?

Supposedly the Curving Cutlery-Download teaches a second edition version of the bend.

Only seen the gallerian bend. The method is fine, but the quality of footage was atrocious. Don't know whether this has changed since I bought it.

Joshua J,

"Only seen the gallerian bend."

Was that the Gallerian Bend from the instant download? I recently purchased the Gallerian Bend DVD from Hocus Pocus and hoped the footage was vastly improved over the instant download.

It was the instant download. You'll still be able to learn the bend, but the footage and audio quality is about the level you'd get from a mobile phone.

It was about two years ago I bought it, don't know whether that is second or first.

Why not just ask the shop who is selling it? if they lie about it and its the same - you can easily get your money back...or if they're honest you'll soon find out the difference!

I very much doubt if any online shop will want to tell porkies...

IAIN,

"Why not just ask the shop who is selling it?"

I've sent an e-mail to Magic Shop.co.uk inquiring about the differences on the DVD,the Curving Cutlery-instant download, and the stand-alone version-instant download.

I haven't seen this, but can anyone tell me why it is called the "Gallerian" rather than the "Gellerian Bend?"

...he said to avoid an unauthorized use of Uri's name. It made me laugh. You know: the "letter of the law" justification (as opposed to "the spirit of the law"). It's kind of like when I got a gig last week as Bab Cossidy, the the Mast Minder. It was a cruise-ship gig.

That's actually pretty funny. He tries to adhere to the letter of the law and instead succeeds in giving the impression that he can't spell.

That actually would not save them in the U.K. If it is obvious they are using Geller's name to sell their product despite the change in spelling, he could still win an a lawsuit. He has won based solely upon the fact that people know he is known for bending metal. Remember the Timex commercial where there was a guy trying to bend a watch and the table bent, the cutlery bent and everything else but the Timex? Also the card game that had a character on it that bent forks.

In the U.K. it is what people perceive, not the intent. If people perceive it as a Geller Bend then it is a Geller despite Galler being used. Better to call it a Geller like bend.
