Lisa,

Nothing against any of them. They are all just adorable, but you know which one is my favorite Smile

Sorry?!
But that's what this thread was about and for, so instead of sorry, let me say "thank you" for participating in this thread.

Ljlvent;

My favorite is the monkey figure, it will take a lot to beat that one

To make it a little easier here is the link to Dave Erskine's collection. I must tell you all that his collection has now been sold off for the most part. It is now in many others collections today.

Straying off the topic again, and in regard to David Erskine;
I just received six booklets by David Erskine, I've only had a chance to flip through them and already I can see a fair amount of time with some very enjoyable reading about ventriloquism. If anyone ever has a chance to get their hands on copies of these booklets, they are well worth having.
These are the titles;

"CONVERSATIONS WITH MEMBERS OF THE VENTRILOQUIST FAMILY"
VOL.1 WITH ALLAN BERNSTEIN, BILL BOLEY, GARLAND BOYD, JIMMY NELSON.
VOL.2 WITH JAY JOHNSON, ARNOLD KIDLA, BOB KING, ANN MAHENDRA. 22 PAGES EACH W/PHOTOS.

"LETTERS TO WILLIE" A BIO OF DAVID ERSKINE'S VENT FIGURE, RONNY DARNAY. 17 PAGES W/PHOTOS.

"EDGAR BERGEN AN INTERVIEW ANTHOLOGY" 25 PAGES W/ PHOTOS.

"LATCHSTRING, REMEMBERING W.S. AND MUZZ BERGER AND THEIR VENT HAVEN, 34 PAGES W/PHOTOS.

"THE AGES OF VENTRILOQUISM" A HISTORY OF VENTRILOQUISM, 42 PAGES W/PHOTOS.

Hi Alan and thank you!
That's more information than I've been able to find out about the maker of that figure.
I might have to start hunting down some pictures of Cecil Carpenter, I'd like to see another figure he made.

I remember seeing Cecil Carpenter perform at a ConVENTion in the early '80's. He had me rolling on the floor with his fractured retelling of Sleeping Beauty. Hilarious. His figure, if I recall correctly, was named Alex.

You are right Keith, about Cecil's figure being named Alex,and that was the most I'd been able to find or find out - until today.
Today I was going through some stuff and found an SAV newsletter that featured Cecil, so I've finally gotten to see another Scott figure.
Here's a few pictures from the newsletter;

Very cool, Dave, Yup, that's Cecil and Alex. I remember reading the Voice of the Northeast. I actually wrote an article for it about my experience at 1991 ConVENTion.

I probably saw that back when, unfortunately, I didn't save any of those newsletters, I just have a few of these that I acquired with a collection of old Oracles.

For those of you who did not see it, Clinton Detweiler has put a big bunch of the original "Oracle" publications up on Ebay. Not only are they great collectibles, they were published by A Great Man!! Our very own Mark Wade!!!

Yes, I saw that, 46 issues, it's up to about a 100. now for the collection with two days to go.
Makes me wonder what my collection of original Oracles dated from '55 to '60 would go for (not that it matters, I'm not planning on selling them).
