Why not just use it as a gag? Just say, "That other table was tough, they wrenched my finger, see!" or something like that.

Very interesting possibilities with that ring...metal bending, gags, unique ring-and-string effects - especially with the extra 'ring' that is a very part of the actual wrench and so on.
