I'm checking into finding super opaque balloons for Repaired and also other tricks I do with round balloons. So far I found the perfect 12" one from a local independent party supply store - it is pearlized navy blue made by Pioneer Latex. They are hard to get online - they seem to be more of a retail thing, but I'm checking into it. Maybe Qualatex has a similar thing. Michael recommends 9" for this trick, but it doesn't come in that size. However, it may be OK anyway. I'll let you guys know when I find out more. But in the meantime, some local party supply stores sell individual balloons and you can experiment. My local shop blew up several for me without charging me, so I could find the right thing and the only one opaque enough was the one I mentioned.

Michael,
Been a hugh fan of Repair since I first saw it performed. However, I've never taken it to the next level and started performing it for 1 reason. I simply can't find the proper balloons. Would it be possible to provide us here at the Magic Café a link for the 9" balloons you recommend? Thanks |

Nonvpro - thank you! lately I've been realizing the type of balloons aren't all that important. The color and lighting are much more important. Don't perform it backlit, and use a blue, green, purple or black balloon. If you're performing with a strong front light and no backlight, it's going to look best. I've been using balloons of all types. That said, maybe I should revisit supplying my own balloons to sell for use in performing repAIR?

Michael,
Would love for you to make available the proper size and color balloons. Or, in the alternative, provide a link for the proper size and color balloons. I live in a very rural area and have exhausted all my options here as far as balloons go. |

Hey nonvpro - I'll revisit offering my own balloons. Thanks Eric - I've got some more tips on the trick that have made a BIG difference lately. When I release a DVD version of this, they'll be on there.

I'd prefer just a link to where you buy your balloons from. Too many middle men spoils the milk.

Danny - currently the balloons I use aren't available online. The best ones I've found are at a convenience store chain (meijer's). Their online store doesn't have them available. So I would be looking at buying wholesale and reselling if I did this.

Michael,
I would be more than happy to compensate you for your time to pick me up some bags of the proper balloons and mail them out to me. |

The balloons I use work just fine. I get mine from a local balloon store.

I've not found many balloons that DON'T work. But I understand the plight of nonvpro, as I've visited many rural parts of this country where there just aren't many shopping choices. But I've got a balloon wholesaler sending me some more samples. I'm telling you - for this trick, lighting is way more important than the balloon. And even then, if you're spending too much time proving it, you're doing so unnecessarily. Please take a look at my performance of the trick recently on live tv. The only thing I don't like is how I grabbed one of the balloon pieces from out of the frame. It may give viewers the excuse that I grabbed another balloon or something, which is not the case.

After watching the video and conversing with you, I have much respect for your creativeness, and quick thinking. Great job, especially adding your special touch to Pressure that takes the effect to a whole new level.

I've been performing this for a few years now.Super visual and easy to do. Reactions are always the same and not once has anyone asked to see the balloon. Why would they, they just saw real magic?! Thanks Michael for building my reputation!

Does the balloon look broken apart ? Or is it just the illusion of the sound of the pop ? I will be ordering this either way . My question is are there separate pieces of the balloon shown after the pop .
Thanks, Jeffrey |
