What kind of conditions does this work under, please? close-up, face to face (as you mentioned readings)?

A few more reviews here would be good. I like the whole concept but I am slightly concerned about the lighting issues....just how bright does it have to be?

I really haven't had any issues with lighting beyond the first try. It takes a little getting used to but once you get it you get it. It works under almost all lightings, just it wouldn't work at night or if you close all the doors and windows and turn off the lights/dim them.

In response to a PM regarding the possibility of a shadow, no, it does not use the person's shadow in any way.

Working with Kenton on the book was very enjoyable. Another review to those requesting them:
"This is an ingenious principle that is entirely reliable and realistic. Everyone needs this because it is simple, direct, and completely impromptu. Just the sort of thing mentalists want to blow people away anytime, one on one or in a group, with no real effort and entirely off-the-cuff without preparation. This is one of those things that mentalists will be relying upon for a very long time...and those first to get it will be on the cutting edge of our future foundation of methods. That said, it is incredibly simple and easy, with only a few trials with friends needed as practice to learn." - Kenton Knepper

Though I haven't real world tried this out, the principle used can open up a whole lot of ideas. Kenton adds plenty of great information to the ebook. That said, yes you will need to practice with a friend till you are comfortable with it. Watch, this may just turn out to be the trick of 2011.

Thank you, Jim. I have been getting a number of amazing new presentational ideas recently, I feel that perhaps on the weekend I will send out a supplement with this additional information to all of those who have purchased from my website (as I can't track those who haven't).

Although he no longer frequents the Café, Greg Arce emailed me with some thoughts that will be going into the supplement, and gave his permission for me to post some of his thoughts on the effect here:
"Very interesting idea. It's definitely something should keep in their arsenal for the right situation. Nice thinking, DekEl."

Is it neccessary for all tricks (also e.g. star signs, words, pin number etc.) that you and the spectator show each other the fingers? otherwise it would almost be for real..

So, seriously not trying to fish for anything here...are there any clothing restrictions here? if I'm face to face with someone, and they are wearing a suit for example, is this technique usable?

I do include some ways to handle different clothing in a one on one situation, however I just prefer choosing a spectator that looks best for the effect (when I have the option of choosing e.g. when I am not performing one on one).

I just got this, and although the method is very clever, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to use this in the corporate sector.

Private clubs with dress codes, corporate, banquets, weddings, etc. You've never worked at any such places??? It seems, though, that you could get around this by using women as participants. There are usually plenty of them at such events wearing sleeveless outfits. Good thoughts, Bob |
