I see that the current time (Eastern Standard Time) has been added to the header: it says that the current time is 11:02 pm Eastern Standard Time.
Unfortunately, it's September 23, so it's not 11:02 pm Eastern Standard Time; it's 11:02 pm Eastern Daylight Time. ;) |

I think that's a matter of semantics. Whether it's standard time or daylight time really doesn't matter. It's the time in the east where the server is located.

So it's Eastern Time.

If that floats your boat, then so beit. Regardless of what you call it, it's 8:10 PM eastern server time.

Is there some way to edit one's preferences so that it shows current LOCAL time? I'm not sure I care what time it is in server land.
I tried 'edit preferences' but saw no option to adjust my time zone there.

Your computer should show you your own local time down in the task bar. The only time that matters here is “Café time”. It will always be GMT -5.
...what if I could read your mind?

I guess it's sort of cute, although I still don't "get" the point behind showing me what local time the server is at ... but, yes, personally I think it would be less confusing and clearer if it was actually labeled as such (“Café time” or "Server Time") rather than "Current Time".

Doesn't anybody have a watch?
This is a bit of a "WOW, just WOW" thread. |

In 2006, the Jewelry Consumer Opinion Council (JCOC) "examined the buying habits of and expectations toward watches of 7,182 JCOC consumer panelists, focusing on 18-24 year-olds, and found that because of escalating technology and the emergence of new and competing devices which tell time, 18-24 year olds are less likely to own a watch as their primary way to tell time. Of the 16% of the 18-24 year-olds who do not own a watch, 78% tell time with digital devices and 42% cite the ownership of cell phones or iPods as negating the need for a watch. In fact, of the JCOC panelists who do not own a watch, only one-third of the 18-24 years-olds and less than half of the general group believe they will wear a watch in the future."

If you want the local time to show in your task bar, there should be a setting option in the control panel on your computer that allows the time to be show. That's assuming your are using windows.

On a Mac it can be made to show up in the title bar, in either digital or analog, and with a multitude of format options.
Seems the issue is solvable no matter what kind of computer you use. |

I can't believe you people are debating over the time displayed on this site. Shouldn't you have more important things to argue about such as the best custom deck to use, or who is better Criss Angel or David Blaine? Isn't there some witch hunt over exposure we could all be grabbing pitch forks and torches for?

Wish I had discovered it earlier. I just don't use it to tell time.

Is there any chance of having the day of the week added to the top of the page as well? I think that would be really useful.
