The rates to ship outside the US are crazy. Just a few years ago I was able to ship a hardcover book under four pounds anywhere in the world through the US Post Office for $13. They soon raised it to $18 and now its $24. Fed Ex and UPS are much higher. USPS cartons up to 20 pounds cost $60. If someone wanted to buy multiple books and have them shipped from the US it would save some money by using the $60 medium carton but depending on the book size you could fit 3-4 hardcover books in one of those cartons. The old international first class is weight limited and now costs sometimes more than International Priority Mail. Larry |
