Ha!

Here's another thing, though...I bought a vent head a couple of years ago that was built by a gentleman in Buenos Aires. Built a body for it. The "stringing" is the plastic stuff used in weed whackers. Each "string" goes down to a piece of dowel..about 2 1/2 inches long, glued at a ninety degree angle into the head stick. It is then attached at the end. The idea is that you put your finger against the string and squeeze. I will likely keep the string (I've already repainted the head long ago...and, as he is bald, it'd be a mess to take off the back again), but I'll likely change the whole dowel arrangement thing. (Oops...gotta go. Dental appointment!)

I remember seeing a picture once of a figure that operated like that where you squeeze the string. I don't remember where or when or who it was made by, I thought it was an interesting idea and wondered how well that worked, but if you want to change yours someday, that question may be answered.

Brings back memories of "string burn" when I flew kites as a kid.

I think Clinton Detweiler had a photo of an early Lovik on his blog that operated this way a few months back... if I'm picturing what you're saying correctly.

I don't recognize the one on your site Dan, so it must have been the one on Clinton's blog that I saw.

Got a temporary tooth until the implant. Doesn't interfere with vent, but it does whistle a little.

Your new "whistle" might be something to create a new charactor around

The ears look great. When I was in Mortuary school we had to make eyes nose lips and ears out of a block of clay. I had the hardest time with the ear. Keep up the great work.

Do I want to ask why they have you do that?
I think I have a guees of an answer, but I could be way off.

I too think you are really doing a fantastic job. You just might have to do another for the Ventriloquist Central Collection.
