Mb217,
That may become a reality, if enough Café members are willing to make a short video (It only has to be a few seconds). I already have a video of one Café member, and am making a competition to see if anyone can guess who it is. The contest is here. Shane Wiker |

The page comes up if you have a pop-up blocker, or if you enter the wrong password. To clarify things, the question also says that the answer begins with an m.

In answer to the question about the retention pass;
1) my ball vanish is one such sleight 2) Mickey Silver's video shows him doing his version of the sleight. The guy we know of the Café as "Mars" also has a ball vanish that gets a retention. Denis Behr does the standard version of the thing exceptionally well. He has a video on his site where he does the thing with a CD! It looks great!
...to all the coins I've dropped here

Yeah, I love Denis's work...And have pointed people to him on the Café for his fine presentations, with coins and cards...The guy is awesome! I love his retention vanishes, just beautiful to watch and so magical. I know the vanish is not to draw attention to itself but to fool the spectator, but for me I think Mickey has taken the vanish and built all sorts of ways to showcase the thing itself. In other words he's not necessarily hiding the vanish, and it's not just simply a move to get to something else in a routine, but it's an active part of the magic. And he's built whole routines around using it over and over, not just as a one move thing. He's even figured out ways to use it with established tricks that show them presented in fresh new ways. His move using the ball and the big die shows even more possibilities.... He's done some remarkable things with this vanish, not to mention does it as if not better than anyone I've seen. Just my view.

Just heard it on TV a few moments ago...said he was 79. Eeerie that I just saw him on with Paul Gertner in that vid on your website, and actually commented about him and his love and appreciation of magic...
***Just found this, and it speaks to his great and long-lasting appreciation for magic and magicians: "...Carson was born in Corning, Iowa, and raised in nearby Norfolk. He started his show business career at age 14 as the magician "The Great Carsoni." And now you know the rest of the story...
