ouch.

as the inventor of this trick.
all i can say is

guys, if you are not happy with this effect, feel free to put me (and Eric too )up on a stick and burn me alive

THAT IS HOW FAR I WILL GO.

I've heard numerous of time about the bad reputation expertmagic had made. hence all the negative comments about this effect already (but honestly, have you even TRIED THIS EFFECT YET???)
so please, for once, put all the bad rep you heard behind. and give our new product a try.

Both Shaun and Sean has reviewed this effect, and they have very positives comments about this. (Thank you so much guys)

I've been killing people with this effect. You will not believe the reaction you get from your audience.
I wouldn't be putting this out if it is not a sure-fire KNOCK - OUT as this is my first ever published effect (with great help from Eric James). Why would I want to earn a bad reputation.

well I guess I'll let it rest for now.
I'll let this effect speak for itself.

once again, much appreciation for the reviews Shaun+Sean.

hope to hear some more positive comments soon

I'll post my quick review here too: Holy ****!! This is AWESOME. I just bought this last night, and watched the video. The od is awesome, and perfectly explained by Eric James, so you can make some of these gimmick cards easily, and probably in about 5-10 minutes. This is seriously a great buy. It's a long video, (actually videos, 7 quicktime files), and covers everything. Construction of the card, simple performance, complex performance, and a full restoration that's possible. This is seriously a great trick, and a concept I've never seen before. I recommend this for a beginner, and for the more advanced guys. The simple routine can be done, as is mentioned on the video, if you can fold a card. The complex handling shouldn't give you too much trouble with a bit of practice either. You guys should all buy this, it's awesome.

Ian

edit: Great customer support too! I couldn't get the download from the expertmagic download page, emailed Eric James, and he literally set up another place for me to download from... within about 30 minutes I had the trick saved.

I for one value the warning of the people here of the reputation of expert magic or any other for that matter, because with out it I would by another in a long line of people stung by people. I would say to expert magic, why are people saying these things? Whats is it that people don't like that are making these comments and what can we do to fix them? Until then I'm sorry, people with will be approching expert magic with the air of caution.

hey aus,
I totally understand your point. as a matter of fact, that's a great point.
but here is where we at.

we are offering the magic community with one of the best color changing trick.

"Whats is it that people don't like that are making these comments and what can we do to fix them"

well, the release of color fusion will honestly, fix all those doubts people had about expertmagic.

like I said, read all the reviews about this product.
And you'll totally understand where we are coming from.
IN short : THIS THING IS FOR REAL.
totally workable, astonishing, it can be had with the right price.

I totally understand people's opinions about expertmag and the previous products and such.
but if James, Mystic, and I are so confident about this product, and if all the reviews we've seen so far are all positive comments, hey, I think that is more than enough for people to put those bad memories behind, and welcome our new product with an open mind.

thanks for the replies guys.

I purchased this effect on a whim last night and watched the video. It's a very nice effect that can be done in the real world. It takes prep time, yes, but as I'm sure you all see from the video, the reaction is worth it. A piece by piece color change that ends EXAMINABLE in every right? It sounds impossible, but Color Fusion is EXACTLY that. The video is very nice itself, except for the "fast-forward" parts. During the mundane parts of the video while he is preparing (only the parts that are already explained but need to be done again), the video fast forwards itself. Other than that, it's a very high quality video that explains everything in great detail.

In short, this is a killer effect and a quality release from Expert Magic. They've beefed up their products, so think about giving them a second chance. If you don't, you'll miss out on a terrific, original effect.

The web page of Expert Magic is bad... I cannot log in and join the forum of The Real Floating Card. No after sales service at all! They disappear for a year and come back for a new product. Hmm... what should I say?

The effect is really magical, but as a card magician studied magic for two years, well, I have to decide, whether my desire to know the secret conquer my mind, or buy it in a rational way, such a way that I master it, perform it, and give my spectators stunning card magic.

There are already a number of torn and restored card effect and this is another one with different ending. Anyone who own this should give a rational preview, such a way that can save the reputation of Expert Magic and also release anger from Café memebers who previously not satified from their effect released previously.
Most memorable moment - with Maestro Juan Tamariz & Consuelo Lorgia in FISM Busan 2018.

I don't have the effect, but the video looks very nice. The only thing stopping me from purchasing this effect is motivation. What would my motivation be for changing the color of the card? I understand the shock value of some effects and this card effect does seem to get some good reactions. I just do not feel that in my act there would be a place for an otherwise unmotivated effect. Kudos, however, for putting out a more quality effect than the previous ones.

What's stopping me from ordering is also motivation based-what would motivate me to order from these clowns again ( I still have Coin Matrix 2003 ).

They should offer refunds to those that bought!!

Some of my closest friends are clowns. I've never seen Eric in makeup... well, THAT was different... Anyway, my point is, why choose THAT particular ignorant reference when many folks visiting here might in fact be a REAL clown. Some of us get rather tired of that epithet. There are so many other phrases that aren't offensive to anyone other the the one(s) you are targeting, so why not choose one of them to describe folks you aren't happy with. In the meantime, feel free to not buy, or buy the effect; personally, I've seen it, and it looks good.

As for motivation, that is where one's creativity comes in, and is part of the basis for any well thought out decision for buying any effect. Ask yourself, "how can I use it with what I have, or what I want to do in the future?" Smile

Re: Expert Magic Reputation.

For some reason people think that our only products are Melt and Coin Matrix 2003. First of all these are not bad effects in my opinion or I would not have released them. Melt works great for me and many others, and as stated way to many times we did talk to meir about melt and he had no problems with us releasing the effect. I see no reason other than the gimmick issues that Melt or Michal Mystic should have a bad reputation. As for Coin Matrix 2003.. I hate how some many of us automatically hate anything that uses BA even though it is one of the greatest tools we have available. That is why it was advertised the way it was. I realize my mistake but I would not take back the fact that I released it. You may notice that it is not in the store currently. This is because we are reshooting, redoing everything so that people we see it for what it is. A wonderful piece of magic. We will be doing the same with melt in the future. For those of you at the latest FISM you should know that several guys used BA in their close-up routines. Should they now have a bad rep too? For another perspective of the GOOD parts about Coin Matrix please see this review:

http://www.online-visions.com/reviews/0402coinmatrix.html

So that takes care of Melt and Matrix 2 out of our 6 products. What about the rest? Are the majority of our well received/reviewed products forgotten?

For Being around for little over 1 year I think we have some great great products and a reputation on the café that does not fit what I think it should. I realize wounds take time to heal but I will prove to all of you that Expert Magic is a great company and we will continue to bring you great new products at the same level or higher than Color Fusion.

Thanks for your time,

I would like to have seen a demo video without all the cuts and Blaine stylings. I do not think one can fairly judge the potential of the effect, or its practicality, from the current online demo. While I'm sure many find the piece exciting, we all know of too many tricks that look great with careful editing, cut away shots, and crafted angles; but don't withstand real world performances.

I think you would do potential buyers a service by posting a single shot, start to finish, demo of the trick.

Teller:

Clearly (if you knew the workings) this would give a large part of the technique away, which would not be fair. Personally, I don't think it's fair for the members of this board to ask for a "start to finish" video of every trick that comes out.

What <is> fair is to get reviews from readers who have the routine (and who hopefully have performed it). In this case, we have a video clip and we have more than one in-depth review.

This ever-present request (from a variety of readers) for more video and more info is not a healthy development, in my opion. And the reason is the same reason a lot of closeup doesn't play well on television: the TV takes away the misdirection, some of the opportunities for sleights, etc.

Hey, Everybody: "Color Fusion" is a TRICK.

THERE IS NO REAL MAGIC! Smile

But we have an idea of what the spectator sees, we have confounded spectator reactions, and we have reviews (positive reviews, no less.)

Come on, folks!

Whoa Steve,

I'm not asking to have the method tipped. I don;t want to know the trick. I just want to know what it looks like. The current video fails in that regard. I just want the equivalent of a magic demo like I might get in a real magic shop. Is it too much to ask for that. I think we have all seen enough cases of people who hide bad magic through careful editing. Given the history of the company, and the type of demo video they are producing, I am inclined to be suspicious.

If the trick doesn't stand up to a real viewing, then that's the trick's fault, not mine. It seems to me if the trick were really good, then there would be no problem in posting a real video. What does the creator have to hide?

Dave Regal posted these exact same thoughts. He felt that a "real" performance of Sudden Deck might tip the method to those who watched it repeatedly. Still, honesty prevailed, he did a REAL demo, and its been his biggest seller.

The current demo vid does not show me whether the trick is "do-able." And what works for one reviewer may not work for me. Again, I don't want the method, but as someone who makes his living as a performer, I know that there are more factors to consider than just a couple of flashy visual moments. Yes we get those on the video, but we also got great visuals on Matrix 2003, no?

Further, I would hope the members of this forum are not so shallow or stupid as to believe just because we might be able to figure out the workings of a trick from a video means that the trick would have no power in the world of the real person.

The frustration you express would be better directed toward those who have used video to prop up inferior effects, rather than those of us who just want to be given a fair opportunity to judge a product before dedicating our resources.

What a nice letter from Eric! I love BA, but if done poorly, it loses the magic.
