Greetings,
I have an effect I carry with me everywhere, and can't remember the actual name of the effect. Uses the Mismade Dollar and you show a real dollar, fold it up, unfold it, and the mismade dollar comes into play (They are attached). I remember it being called Quarterflex or something like that, but can't find it anywhere. I know how to remake it, but wanted to support a creator if I could find it. RevJohn |

It's "Quadraflex". http://www.barrysmagicshop.com/index.php......s_id=425 I've never cared for that version, since the effect begs for the bill to be examined.
I think the way that I do it, ungaffed without a tip, is the easiest way to go. I use a move, that I devised, so that the hands may be shown empty. |

At MagicLive, Michael Ammar showed a great bill switch that was the same idea.
Thanks for the Link! RevJohn |

I've had a lot of success with Quadraflex and always have it in my wallet. Was there a name to the Ammar effect he showed you?

I like quadraflex, but changed the location of the gaff, which works better for me!

I borrow a bill and do a bill switch - but use a plot that is "just an interesting origami fold and not a trick." The specs actually think it's their bill and not a switch. Of course, they want to keep it, so to get it back, I tell them that I'll show how it works - I pretend to twist it this way and that and give it back normal again. There's different ways of using this bill. Sometimes I have the spec hold "their" folded bill and to say a magic word to change it into a hundred. What ever word they choose, I say, "Oh no! Not that one -- that will mess up the bill!"

I love borrowing a dollar and turning it inside out. The looks on spectators faces in priceless. Allow them to examine the inside out bill and then switch it back. Always great responses...

The "attached" gimmick appears in a few places: Two Dollar Window, Sander's Double Bill Switch, and Rod Chow's Melt Change. The latter two are in SWITCH, and I'm sure there are many other places.

I have that but the one I have is called Quattro-Bill.
I bought it from "The Trickery" last fall. But they are no longer in business.

Just for the sake of proper crediting:
The idea of using the mis-cut dollar (in a routine with a money maker) came from P. Howard Lyons in Ibidem (Sept. 1956). James Lewis created the "Mismade Bill" presentation using the bill switch. It appears on his video, "Million Dollar Mysteries." Cheers, Jerry |
