I thought since I have been subjecting all you good people to my less than expertise opinions, I should properly introduce myself so you might be a bit more sympathetic to my uninformed plight.
My name is Burt Yaroch. The Yak thing was a call-sign from my Navy days (I had a slight problem with airsickness during my jet training). My wife became Jak (longer story) so we are collectively Yak and Jak. I have done the same "four" magic tricks since I was old enough to get my hand around a deck to do the glide. I began learning new effects about three years ago (my family grew tired of those four) and I perform (if you can call it that) for kids, nervous fliers, and anyone who will watch in airports across the country (working for Delta now). I dabble in walk-around stuff for the most part, as most passengers don’t appreciate seeing their pilot trying to escape from a straight jacket during the boarding process. I am hoping, with your help, to make magic a second career. I look forward to having you all educate me on the ways of prestidigitation and thanks for having me.

Nice to have you, Burt! If you're looking to make some dough from performing, may I be so immodest as to recommend that you read my column, "Pro-Files," on the Visions site at http://www.online-visions.com?

Welcome to The Magic Cafe Y&J,
I laughed at your "Art Of..." posts because I instinctively thought Art of Astonishment. Oops but it was a good snicker. Cheers, Tom Cutts |
