Are there any linking ring sets that include an approximation of Borromean rings?

Wouldn't a true borrowmean set require flexible rings? If so, I think it would be hard to make them out of the standard materials that rings are made of.

Thank you, sir. I think that's right - that's why it would have to be an approximation. Or perhaps a flexible portion of a ring.

Of course you can link three rings from a normal set and hold them in a way that looks like a Borromean group without any difficulty.

Very good! Those rings look flat . . . haven't seen many sets like that.

This is a set of Newman Rings that I bought in the late 70s or early 80s. I don't think they are produced any more. You can see an old video of me in action with these at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ajq8DmqHTZY

Very nicely done, indeed! The instantaneous near-Borromean display pleased me a great deal.
