I'm very interested in this effect i saw for the first time performed by Penn and Teller where you eat a bean and make it come back from your eye, this effect has then been made by David Blaine, Paul ZEnon....
I mostly know the method but i would like to have advice on it if anyones of you already perform it ??? |

I really have never heard of it. But it sounds pretty simple. Read about false transfers. That might help.

I believe Swami/Mantra covers this.

I have a routine titled"The last tear drop", where I make a crystal come out of my eye. Philemon is correct, it is in the Swami/Mantra.

Everyone says its in the swami mantra, could someone give me a page reference please, because I cant seem to find it, unless you are talking about using the needle from eye to eye method, but with a bean? Thanks

Criss Angel just did it on one of his new shows with a popcorn kernel.

In the Swami/Mantra compilation, it's on page 115.

John Ramsay - "The Four Little Beans", a single manuscript, that was then included in one of the volumes by Galloway. Also, there is a version in "The Magic of Rezvani", a persian magician that Charlie Miller thought very highly of. Again, it was in a column in an old Genii by Loyd (Enochs)...

I have a friend who does a variation of the bead in the eye routine as a closer. He's a mentalist and worked hard to make sure that it fit right with his show and style. The routine never fails to kill the audience and it's so strong that he had to make it his closer.

It's on Vol 2 (The Stranger) of the Spellman DVD set. He calls his routine 'The Orifices' - nice.

I saw this done with corn by a member of my friend's magic club. The reactions were mostly of the "Oh, gross!" variety, but I had to try it. I did it myself exactly once. It was much more fun to watch someone do this trick then do it myself.
This is a hard one to post advice on without exposing the secret, but a bean is probably a better shape than a piece of corn. |

What type of beans ae the best for this trick or is it just a case of them being clean and free of sharp edges etc? Is swami/antra really flawed in its methodology of certain "yogi" feats? I was going to practice a few I have put of out of fear (yeah I know big girly wuss wuss) but now I'm not so sure!!!???!!??
