This COULD have been the ultimate finger ring OFF and finger ring ON rope routine, but it made more sense to use ribbons instead of ropes. Still, I feel it belongs here with the rope effects because its origin is from two rope effects- one of Al Schneider's "Off" moves (phase three) and a single rope through body penetration combined with the reappearance of the borrowed finger ring on the center of the rope (inside a box). The entire routine is called "Fellowship of the Ring" and it is in The Wizards' Journal #21. You form the "fellowship" from four spectators who act as guardians of the ring on its epic journey through space and time, from one gift box and ribbon to another. Or, you could just use any ordinary theme and make the borrowed finger ring go from one box to the other without all the Hobbit build-up and mythical "ritual sacrifice" explanations. Either way, it's a dandy trick.
