My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Hi,

This is done in a Variety Show in Taiwan, I don't think there are many Asian countries that will find it amusing, especially in a television show.

Every year or so I re-visit an old topic here on the Café that discusses this interesting item, and its various/possible off-shoots, for no other reason than to laugh myself silly.

To this day, I do not/have not owned this item. For some reason, it is tempting. I can think of a couple of friends who would think it was hilarious. I would never take it public, however! Smile I am not ashamed to admit, the expression on my wife's face upon opening her hand would cause smiles on my face lasting 1000 years! Smile

I was scanning eBay tonight, saw the item up for offer, and found the video.

I saw a video many many years ago showing thousands of people (both males and females) on the streets in Japan, holding this prop in the widest varieties of shapes, sizes and materials parading, seems like they do this every year. It was quite a sight...not sure if they were for sales to magicians though....

Yes, they have an annual festival and parade. I don't know the history behind it though but they've been doing it for years (hundreds)

And to think that most Americans use something similar as a traffic signal!
