realy hate to say it but the production of it is
terible
tricks are ok
if this magician would where a shirt and tie. Instead
of a leather cap and jumper
I would have belived that he takes his customurs
both buyers of the dvd and his spectators seriously
now I cant
as said tricks are ok please don't anything like this on the
market again making a quick buck will hurt you and our art in the end
sorry I couldn't be more positive

Why are they terrible? Low budget production or is it the material that's bad?

Not heard of this guy before, but the title caught my interest.

That will teach me to post when I'm falling asleep, lol!

I've not seen these DVD's, but have seen Stephen (he's a member of my local magic club) and I've always found him to be genuinely passionate about magic and not out to make a "quick buck"!

Would be nice to hear a balanced review of why you didn't like it, apart from what he was wearing. I don't imagine we wears a leather cap and jumper when he performs an actual paid gig, do you?

The dvd is low budget but that dosnt have to mind exept
the dvd is shot in a bar proberbly illusions in the uk
the music is so loud that you cant hear the patter
and when he is actually working in this bar he is still terrebly dressed
I cant imagen this illusions bar doing well when the magicians are dressed like that
the word magician allone is setting expectations in peoples mind we have to live up to
if he would get a good producer like alakazam and gave the same info as he did on this dvd the project would have been much better and would deffent the askingprice of the dvd
now I cann only say bad product by a proberbly nice but overethusastic magician
maybe he can step in to this and give his fifty cents

Hi Guys.

Firstly. Thank you Brehan. I don’t know who you are but I’m grateful your purchased my DVD and took the time to watch it.

I'll point out Futureal does not own the DVD to my knowledge, and is speaking in retaliation to another thread on a different subject.

Sorry to hear you didn’t like the way I was dressed. I only wear a t-shirt and cap for the explanation that took place in the studio. I didn’t think it was necessary to wear my formal suit for that part.
For all my wedding gigs I wear a formal suit. For 90% of the live performances I wear my formal suit. On a few occasions I am wearing my t-shirt for the performance as it was more appropriate for that particular moment. But I'm not sure why the clothes I'm wearing have anything to do with the DVD. And I’m not sure why I’m not allowed to wear my t-shirt for the explanation of the effects for you guys?

This is a high quality product. The performances were all shot at Illusions Magic Bar, Manchester in front of a live audience with a high-definition Panasonic camera. This is clearly noted on the DVD cover and sales page as a plus point. Too many DVDs are being released without any live performances and here every trick has at least one, often two. Yes, there is music in the background which I will admit is annoying and if I had any power over, would have been turned off. But in the end, the bar was a real place and they had to keep the music on for the other customers. Nothing I could do about that. But everything I say is heard.

I have heard it mentioned about none of the performances being done at an actual wedding, which is true - there is none for a very good reason. Somebody’s wedding is the most important day of their lives and I’m not about to soil that by using their wedding to shoot footage for my own DVD. That’s not who am I or what I’m about. I got all the live footage from the magic bar because it was far easier to get releases for everyone involved and I wasn’t interfering with someone’s big day.

If the lack of footage at an actual wedding is a problem for you, then please don’t buy my DVD. I don’t want you to because my main concern is about making other people’s weddings more memorable and performing magic more appropriate. If you believe I should have ‘used’ a wedding to promote myself to make my DVD, then you are not the type of entertainer I want watching it. It is only for the people who care about the couple being married and not the artist’s intensions on how he can use people for his own advantage. That’s not the kind of guy I am.

I'm glad you liked the tricks and hopefully they bring in some business for you.

Ive seen the dvd, and yes the quality isn't great, but the effects are marketable, and work well in the real world. I sympathise with steve but the night he performed at illusions doing these , in fact both nights, it turned out to be over noisy ,. It is worth noting as well that , that they were done in the context of a bar magic session, I'm sorry if the dutch insist upon top hat and tails for their bar magicians , but britain does not. As for the other comments made about made about it being awful etc , well futureal, you say youve heard?? off who,, stand up to the plate fella .. otherwise shut it,, its your type that does magic the biggest disservice ,, certainly not workers like steve who are out there doing it , and put these dvds out to share their findings and experiences more than to make a living from sales of them. can we try being a litle more positive in future.
