My favorite parlor "prop"?

Well, Abbott's Squeeze-Away Block is up there, along with a very ornate Silk & Ball Vase, but I think you're asking about the favorite one that's PERFORMED...and I guess that would be:

Anders' "Zone Zero"

In fact, if you all don't mind, I think I'll start a thread about that...

My favorite is the "Diebrick Dice". It is an Inner-Outer Box Routine with an unusual twist. Smile

I have a small collection of parlor props.

I enjoy performing my Mak Strat-O-Sphere, but it's not what I would consider a collectable quality piece.

I have Dean's Box, and I love the quality of it, as well as the effect, but it is after all, just a box and doesn't contain any real clever gimmickry which makes a magic prop so much fun.

I have two pieces that were handmade by an artisan friend, one is a spectacular hand carved square circle, the other is a set of Chinese sticks, both are made of oak and black walnut.

I also have an older piece that looks something like this, but I don't think it's an actual Owen/Thayer piece.

Lastly, I recently bought a really nice die box from Daytona Magic. I got a good deal on this piece, but still spent more than I should have on an effect that doesn't really have a place in my performance yet. But it looks fantastic on my display shelf and it has lots of gimmickry bits that make it great fun to play with!

Cardiographic, Rope, Bill in Lemon and Ring in Nest of Boxes. I also like Starcle so a paper napkin should be included!

Guys, just would like to hear some views on what are some of your favourite parlour props you had ever owned. Both Adult and Children Parlour shows...

Hydrocoke, I love the kids' reaction to this when the "Coke" (dyed water) doesn't come out until I tell it too.

Does anybody still make this in maybe a 16 or 20 oz size? My little 8 oz bottle is starting to look really old fashioned!

I just spent a week doing kid shows in schools. My new favorite prop? Wolf's Jumbo Balloon Wand. It looks great and before I even pick it up, kids are pointing to it and saying things like "look at that!" I can't wait to get an ABC Gumball recombobulator!

I also love the mismade flags. Kids laugh hard when done correctly.

My one-hour parlor show or cruise ship act would consist of:

Sucker Silk to Egg
Mongolian Pop Knot
Linking Rings-Merv Taylor's "Orbs Eternal"
Killer Epic or Martin Lewis' Cardiographic
Teleportation Device (Bill in Lemon)
Gene Anderson Newspaper Tear

Everything fits in my carry-on briefcase except for the Billy McComb Folding Nightclub Table and the Killer Epic or Cardiographic. These fit in one compartment of my Samsonite suitcase.

My favorite to day is the nest of boxes that I recently (finally) completed building from my own design and the very fun routine that goes with it.

My Russian roulette broken bottle routine gets the best reactions.

My breakaway die box is a prop I can't live without. And the balloon tray is a recent, but welcome addition to my show.
