Is anyone familiar with the new Cinch bill switch which is just being offered? It is supposed to use a novel method. I was wondering how practical and effective it is.

I was wondering the same thing. I found this thread about Cinch on "Latest and Greatest".

The method looks like an improvement on something Peter Eggink came out with a while back based on the video. It looks real good. I like it.

Can this be used to change one countries currency into another?

Yes you can change currency if you want. once you learn the principle behind the effect you can apply this to switch lots of things. the effects in the demo are the ones included and you can easily come up with more.

I understand that you can hand the bill out afterwards for examination.
My question is this. When you do the t.t. method as I do, following certain guidelines and with some practice, the hands can be held 'naturally' when and after you give out the bill. In other words for the skilled practitioner of the t.t. it is not perfectly obvious that he is concealing something. The same is true of palming coins. Now I know that the Cinch is not with a t.t. but is the Cinch method similar in that respect, that with some practice you can make the appearance of being clean while you hand out the bill, or is it going to look impossibly awkward? |

I own cinch and it is a really visual bill change that can be examined after it changes and your hand looks completely clean
you can have empty hand if you really want. adam |

Hi. I finally got mine in the mail and it seems like a great trick, but my question is: where on the DVD is the PDF file? I have looked everywhere and cannot find it.

I recall a bill switch of this nature appearing in the monthly tricks section of a popular magic magazine thirty years ago (or so).
As I remember, the trick was by a Japanese magician and used a common object as the "gimmick." Anyone else recall the magician's name? |

Shaun Robison has been my friend and mentor for about 5 years now. I remember going to his house for one of our weekly sessions and he said he wanted to show me something. When he performed it my draw dropped, and then he was nice enough to teach it to me. This was weeks before PaperCrane got involved. The method is very smart. It packs small, plays huge, and its even examinable. What more can you want in a bill change?

Conus: yes Cinch is based off of an effect published by a japanese magician and although I cannot remember his name, Shaun credits him on the DVD.

Well, I received mine in the mail and it is a little gem. My question is: is there a place to buy replacements for those little gimmicks that come with Cinch? It is only a matter of time before one of them is lost.
