Hi,
my site is beginning to branch out into doing street performance competitions. We'd like to put on a magic one, where magicians send us videos of their performing on the streets. We've got a few problems: We've had difficulties creating authentic street magic videos. The moment the cameras are in the way, we're spoiling the act, and when we're out of the way we're not getting that POV that's so important in magic. Asking them to all face forwards is completely staged. So, in general, I'm asking for tips on creating videos of street magic, which we can then put on our competition page (to help people create their first videos). Links to videos would be appreciated. Second, who are some good magic companies to approach about getting sponsored kit? We're doing one with Flowtoys at the moment because contact jugglers told us they were the most in demand. In magic circles, what would be a good start? Finally, does anyone have any links to previous magic competitions (video based, if possible), which we can take a look at? Thanks!
