I'm a 'worker' and I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole. If you only have 10 minutes to impress at a table are you really going to use Hero? Come on, imagine you really have to impress someone would you use this - of course not. If we really owe it to our audience to do the best we can why would you use Hero? It's this sort of trick that makes people look down at magic as a sub standard art form. Chris can and should have done a hell of a lot better. Craig |

Demonmagic 'gag-trick' well it would definately get a laugh but not for the right reason !
This is very poor on virtualy every level from performance to effect. Has any one actually parted with hard earned cash for this ?? |

I do agree with you, this may have been better placed within a selection of card effects and other routines. My comment was more based on people criticising the demo, with many of demos having far higher production values, used to mask the fact that it's yet another impractical effect that's going straight in the bottom drawer. Credit to Chris, his demo is honest and less people will get burned by this - though this may not have been his intension. I think the person who will buy it will be someone who likes the effect and hasn't the skills or time to make it themselves - or just wants to credit the creator. In an ideal world I'd rather see a cheap but honest demo of a great effect, than a high-quality demo of poor one. Again, I have my opinions on the effect and if I'm honest I agree with Wizard's review but I don't want to criticise Chris on here because I haven't parted with any money or feel mislead by the demo. |
