Did Hardeen ever attend or do a Houdini Seance after 1936?

I believe in 1936 he did one in NYC, and I think I remember seeing an invitation to him from Bess for the 10th one in Hollywood which was also in 1936.

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks

Hi Dick,
Didn't Ed Saint say Hardeen was conducting his own seance simultaneously with Bessie's, in New York, Oct. 31, 1936?
Patrick
I'm not sure of this, but, I kind of remember that he mentions Leonard (Hicks) in Chicago, Harry Day in London, someone else in "the fateful city of Detroit," and Hardeen (did he call him "Dash") in N.Y.

Pat;
Don't you ever sleep?

This is the one I mentioned above in NYC. I would guess he was working in NY and could not get to the one in Hollywood.

Any after that? Found some other reference to it other than Saint. This might have come from Saint. Some one wrote it up. Eddie Clever in Tops Magazine in 1936. http://creepymagic.com/spooksters/houdiniseance1936.html

Thanks,
Any others????
Regardz

I was surprised to hear he even participated in the '36 seance (from afar). But I think that was all part of the "show", and I do believe the '36 seance was really a show. I think Dash was as big a skeptic as Harry, and if he attended a seance after '36 (and I've never heard that he did), it was for a paycheck or as a personal favor to Dunninger or Sid Radner or someone like this. I suspect the family was happy to be done with the whole seance thing after '36.

Dash seemed to have little or no interest in seances and the like, there is an article on him doing the wax hands in an armed forces magazine in 1943, but it seems like it was filler material. I always liked the description of Dash as being more cynical than Harry. Although the movie is currently among the missing, he did a Vitaphone short called 'Medium well done', which was in the mid 1930s and I assume from the title it dealt with the seance stuff.

Dash actually might have done several short films. Check out this article on my blog. I was also able to uncover some info on Medium Well Done.
