I purchased and received The Needles from Puck about a week ago. The DVD has a perfromance by Mr. Alexander in front of a large audience on a crusie ship which is then followed by an explanation fo the set up and routine by Mr. Alexander. As usual with the releases that Mr. Alexander is assoicated with, the explanation is very clear and detailed with nothing left out. There are several gimmicks included that make this routine work. With proper, common sense care they should last your entire career. WHile you do need to initially tie the needles on the string, this does nto take that long and is a one time set up that should last many peformances. The routine is truly safe if performed as instructed. The gimmick(s) and routine allow you to adjust the performance to your own individual style. The simple set up does allow the needles to come from your mouth without them being tangled so this alone makes this routine worth the price.
This is a well made and well thought out routine. It is certainly worth the price. I hihgly recommend it. Michael

I saw another review where someone mentioned that the wine glass you get is plastic and most likely not what is shown in the demo. The review was very positive they just mentioned that about the wine glass. Anyone that has this can you please comment on this? Thanks, Jerry

Yes, it is plastic and would be the one used in whatever demo you are referring to

Yes, same style glass as in the demo, it's just a little smaller then the one we use now.
The one that comes in the package is the one we upgraded to. To all those orders we received this week, they will go out soon. We have been working the Magic Castle all week and will ship them Tuesday. Thanks for your patience. |

Hello,
I AM intereted in this as it looks like a very STRONG routine. Are there any new 'user' reviews or additional thoughts? Is the look of the plastic glass an issue at all? Any comments welcome. Piers, I bought it on the premise of the needles coming out extremely clean and even. I've always liked needles over razor blade as I think needles and thread had a connection so to speak. The props with this are very basic, nothing amazing. The plastic cup is nothing special, in fact I have already gone to a party shop and replaced it for a design I like more. It does have a feature required and utilised however. All and all, the props are worth pennies so don't have expectations there, nothing amazing.
HOWEVER, you are paying for their idea and performance routine. The needles coming from the mouth in an even, non tangled and foolproof steady production is fantastic and simple and as I mentioned in an earlier post, this was the issue for me. I luv the method used and would never have thought of it myself even though you'll think "DOH" why didn't I think of that. I will personnally combine this with the Steve Spill method. I don't think the method for disposing of the needles is 100% foolproof, nor is Steinmeyers. At least with Spills you know exactly where they are. So, is it worth the money. Well, I only got one thing from this and that was how the needles come out, and for that I was happy with the deal as it advanced the whole concept of this routine for me. But I'm in a place and time of my life were I can afford the luxury of spending $300 for one idea and feel good if the idea is a good one. If you are struggling for cash as a young man you may want to stick with Spills method and routine, its very good, and as I said, my routine will be a mixture using this and Spills. I think Scott actually mentioned that possibility earlier. For me it was truely worth the money. And perhaps others think so as well, not too many have popped up here in the for sale section. I hope this helps you make an informed decision |

I think I have almost made up my mind on purchasing this. One question though... What is the limit on the amount of threaded needles one can produce?

We had a customer send us a video using our gimmick with almost 40 needles. You have the flexibility to customize the amount produced to fit your performance style.

Good to hear! Just placed my order! I've been closing my shows with a needle swallowing routine for years. After having a bit of a scare a few months back I have been looking to make it a bit safer.Looking forward to receiving this!

I recieved this not too long ago after speaking with Denny Haney about it. When Denny recommends something, I listen. Is it cheap? No. Can you do same effect for less money? Yes. Am I happy with my purchase? You bet!
It's easy to see that Scott and Puck put a lot of time and thought into this. While the intial set up will take some time (10-15 minutes), I love that it can be reset in about a minute. The "no tangles" is what really sold me and what I love about this the most. I'm very pleased with "The Needles" Also looking forward to seeing Scott and Puck lecture in Baltimore next month. |
