Hi friends,
I just would like some support because last night, September 8, 2003, my dog, Shea, was hit by a car. I could hear someone crying or a kid yelling but my dad and I looked around for our dog, but we couldn't find her. Someone heard us calling out her name and said she was by the side of the road. When we reached her she had already passed away. Shea was the best friend I have ever had, and I probably won't get over this anytime soon. Please pray for Shea and my family. I know Shea is in a better place. Thank you everyone. Sincerely, TJ |

Sorry to hear about the passing of your best friend. I am an animal lover myself and love my pets like my own kids (they are!).
Will keep you and your family in my prayers.

I have two dogs and know how you must feel, as I lost one about eight years ago. My pups mean the world to me and I am sure yours did to you. It takes time to remember your friend, take care. |

Hi MagicandBlackJack,
When "Oscar" my much loved cat died the vet's office presented me with a card and this poem enclosed. I wanted to share it with you and offer my sympathies for your family. This is for you and Shea. The Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying faster and faster. You have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together. |

Gee, I love animals too, especially dogs. You are in my prayers. I believe just as with people that God has a special place for all his creatures, Ed.

Hi TJ:
Just want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, buddy. Sounds like Shea was a terrific and special dog. Also sounds like she had a wonderful, full life, having a caretaker like you and your family. Best, Ron |

What a great idea your dad had!
The grieving process is just the same as you would have for a family member as that's what they are. People that haven't experienced that bond with an animal my not quite understand that..but seems you have many supporters at the Café. Take Care |
