Does anyone know of an inexpensive way that I can to produce an assistant? My budget is pretty low on magic props, so under $125.00.

Check out Andrew Mayne's Books. He might have a cheap solution in there. Also check out Mark Wilson's Complete Course for a couple cheap/easy methods.

Here is an idea by Andrew that I put into my show. It can be used to either produce or vanish.

It cost me about $100 for everything.

Hi Chad,
save some more money and do it without the annoying spotlight in the middle.
The video will be much better.

I'd echo Chris's recommendation for Mark Wilson's book. Best book for magicians ever, has some inexpensive and easily build illusions there that are extremely effective, and of course a ton of magic.

Mark Wilson's book would be a great starting point. Some libraries carry it. For a more specific answer, you need to have a more specific question. For example, is this for stage or platform? What angle considerations are there? What building skills/tools do you have?

I am planning on using Andrew Mayne's "Spectre Cabinet" as my show opener. I am not producing an assistant, but rather myself. However, it can be used for either.

I am also making a few modifications to the decoration and adding some lighting/sound effects to make it my own.

All in all...a great and inexpensive way to produce a person!
