I thought it was Dai Vernon but in Card College vol 5 page 1239, it is written that: "Lin Searles introduced the notion that the Aces might travel singly"
Do you know where and when Lin Searles introduced this notion?

Lin Searles was very prolific. I don't have my access information for Conjuring Arts with me; however, I may be able to check it in a few days. He wrote a book in 1938 called The Card Expert. It may be in there.
