With my PK ring I had to be 4-6 inches from bolt to make the magic---too close to make it look good. There was an earlier post which had a terrific handling. Put two sided tape on the m----- that comes with the MP. Leave it on the nut at the end of the bolt and quite literally you can slide it on and off at will. So show the nut and bolt and hands empty, slide off m----- and have them screw off and put on the bolt. Now take the nut and bolt back and do the magic. Let them examine again. As you take back and put away slide the m----- back on nut. I found this works best if the nut and bolt is loaded with the b------. Seems to attract the gimmick better. Can't take credit for the handling, but it's very clean!! Hope that helps.

A normal N40 strength ring doesn't allow you much distance from the bolt. I use an N50 strength ring and the distance it allows works perfectly for me.

HELP!! Mine is not examinable. The end comes off so easy! I am scared to hand it to anyone, as if they pull on it even gently, it will come off. Even the spring and battery seem to push it out a little when it is on.
It seems like they should have put reverse threads in this. So the end just sits there. Any slight pull by someone examining it, it will come off. So this is completely useless if someone handles it. I also heard there was an online video tutorial? I did not get any info on that. So did I just get a bad one? Does anyone else have one like this? I am getting ready to write the dealer I bought it from, but I like the idea and would really like to keep it if there is an easy fix. Please anyone let me know. thanks! ACE

I wrote the dealer yesterday, and they said they hare going to test one and put it in the mail to me, and send me a return envelope if they decide they want the old one back.
So I am waiting for a new one, and hopefully it will be okay. ACE

I got my new one and it has a tight fit. It did not work at all, but I replaced the battery and now it works fine.
I still like UC better, as it is more clean. ACE

For anyone interested in non-gaffed switch-out/giveaways for this, I'm getting a price quote for 500 and 1,000 units.

I've been reading about this since released and decided to take the plunge. Ordered some stuff from Bob Solari and picked this up. I have to say, this is an amazing device. The Café's talented Ustaad had some clever tips on another thread ( thank you Sir ).
Bob has them for only $119.95: http://bobsolarimagic.com/shop/Micro%20Psychic |

Hello, I just got this in from Bob also. Was on the fence for awhile but Bob's great low price finally made up my mind for me The nut off bolt effect has always been one of my favorites. I've had the Eddie Gibson version as well as a more simple version Bob King released many moons ago using a matchbox. I Have Ultra-Cinese and now Micro Psychic in which I like very much I don't know on how many other versions there have been other than what I mentioned but this one is very cool in design and a lot of fun to play / experiment with The one that Bob sent me is very quiet. Everyone else who posted in this thread pretty much mentioned everything else you need to know without giving away it all but I like the open-ness and freedom of Micro Psychic compared to Ultra Cinese. Granted you can give the nut/bolt away if you wanted with the Ultra version, there is just less stuff for me to think about when handling the Micro version... That, I like a lot I don't particularly care for the way the nut just spins off the bolt as shown in the demo. I've been using one hand ( shown empty ) to cover the bolt for a few seconds at a time to then show the nut slowly coming off. My hand is several inches away when doing this as well as the fingers being spread. I like doing it that way better I'm sure you could even utilize your IPod, etc. somehow to help mask any noise you may have if that is an issue. Play music and / or maybe even a short video clip of something going on to incorporate into your routine with Micro Psychic Anyway, Bob's price was great and I'm glad I got it... Great service as always Regards, Matt |

Is it normal for it to stop working after a couple of consecutive uses? Then having to wait 5 or 10 mins for it to 'recharge'?

There are a lot of knock offs appearing on the market that are of an inferior quality.
These were being sold for as low as £15 at a recent convention. Is there a way to tell the genuine one from a cheap copy I wonder?

I just got Micro Psychic from Amazon for $15. I like it a lot. At first I found it way too noisy and way too fast. Just a machine. I wanted a mysterious effect where the nut slowly responds to "psychic" energy. But, I changed the handling. Rather than pinching the head of the bolt, I have my thumb on one end, and my index finger on the other. By pinching hard, I control the vibration and the noise. And, I also add a drop of water to the threads just before I start. This dampens the vibration/noise and slows the nut down. I now have the mysterious slow effect I wanted. Oh, and I use a very powerful m----- hanging on a string round my neck to activate. Has about a five inch "reach".
As for presentation, I plan on doing a series of psychic effects. The group energy, once focused, will gradually move the nut. Big buildup, small movement. Great effect. Only downside compared to Ultracinese; you can't give bolt away. It holds up to examination just fine, but you can't just let someone walk off with your gimmick. Great trick; I highly recommend it, now that I have learned to control the noise. By the way, Leonardo Milanesi's post is one of the most mature I have seen. |

I have to tell you, that I was one of the First that Purchased Ultra Cinese and I was pretty disappointed. The Product was ''not finished'' IMO. The Footswitch broke after short Time. The Functionnality was not as Perfect as I thought it would be for that Price. Sometimes I was able to perform it, sometimes the Nut did not turn or move at all. I decided to not do this Effect anymore because it was to risky. I then made up one by myself, a bit larger and stronger with a better switch (automatic movement switch, the Best IMO). I have to say, it works just perfect:))) So as you see, I paid the whole Price, made up my own one and now it Works better then the original Version, Awesome:) Thanks for the Great Idea! Good Luck my Friend Oh, I forgot to mention: I am also owner of Micro psychic (Original, bought at Blackpool Convention) It's a Nice Toy, but not to compare with Ultracinese (100% Clean and super Visual) I never performed this Trick to anybody, because the Nut and Bolt looks a bit unnatural and the Fact that I can't give it away as a souvenir is a little bit disappointing for me, sorry:(

I also bought a ultracinese device of the first batch.
and I still love it. Works like a charm right from the start, silent, no broken parts at all. So I can not agree with the above said. I also prefer it over micro psychic. Beeing able to hand out the nut and bolt is a great advantage. But I have to admit that micro psychic is state of the art micro magic! A little wonder. As I don't like to perform the effect openly both tools suit my needs very well. Leonardo, I wish you all the best for your new project. BTW there were versions of the effect available using the same principle before UC. but the application/handling/idea of UC is new and exciting!! |
