I was recently witnessed to an effect where someone placed an index card folded in a V upright on a table. They then proceeded to wipe their face with the hands and shoot their hand down behind the paper. Everytime they did this, the paper moved a little forward. I didn't even see anything being blown from his mouth. It was closed! Does anyone know where this effect is published. I'm very interested in it. Smile

You can also find it in Mac King & Mark Levy's book "Tricks With Your Head" (page 95).

Serendepity.

I was just explaining this in the "Its not magic" section under a discussion about "the power of chi".

Should of come here first. didn't know it had a name or where to find it in a book. I was just shown it last year by someone who was taught by someone....etc.

I remember when the move effect first became popular by slapping yourself in the face and then gesturing towards the upright piece of paper to move or fall over. Taking that idea and running with it I developed a routine called The Gunslinger that first appeared in MAGIC magazine and then shortly thereafter in my book. My book is currently out of print, but I do explain it on my video set of the same name POCKETS FULL OF MIRACLES. I have also printed up the handling of the effect and what I have so-named THE VORTEX MOVE on my site at http://www.diamond-jim.com/book/gunslinger.htm

Enjoy!

Jim's routine takes it from a cool stunt to a thought out and commerical effect.

Dang. This is one of those tricks where you can honestly make yourself mark out on it (eliciting a "Woah! Cool!") when you try it out.

Much applause! Hmmm.. Now how can I use that, maybe linking it to an IT routine with the same card later?
