Dear all,
Hereby some false deals. I am aware that my camquality is kinda low and my thumbmovement isn't fully noticed. I use in fact very little thumbmovement, but thumbmovement nevertheless. I got the bottom deal from Expert at the Card table, Same goes for the Strike Second deal. I got the Greek deal from Weapons of the Card Shark vol. 2(minor variation on it) and a Martin Nash video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpgYWwJZ5xU I hope you enjoy and don't forget to leave a comment or tell me what I can do better. Im always willing to improve! Thanks. |

Three comments: 1) Looks good, 2) Too fast IMO---LOOKS like, by being speedy, that you're hiding sleights, 3) I'd angle the deck down more.

1) thanks
2) I'm not demoing. Im doing the deals as if I'm dealing in a real game, which I use these sleights for anyway. I am not going to slow deal in a game. If hiding sleights is necessary, I will just do that (get ready greek for example). Im not doing magic with these deals (where a slower pace is of essence), I'm using these in real games and thus the speed is correct because we want to play some poker, not see how steady I can deal (with all attention on the deck). 3) thanks for the tip. I will try that and let you know how I think of it! Take care Thanks for your thoughts and advice btw! I appreciate it |

Deals look nice, but very uncontrolled. Your cards are all over the place. You say you use this in a game, but it it is hard to see that with out the cards going in front of the players properly. There is more to false dealing than just getting your cards. You should work on placing the opponents cards in front of their seats even when practicing.
The deals do look too fast to me as well, even for real work. If we were sitting at a table I would be suspicious of that speed. Would love to see it with better lighting. Definitely good work, must spend a lot of time with it. Kingman |

Hi,
The reason therefore is that I have a laptop webcam only at the moment. I couldn't show dealing around a table since the camera angle for that is never good enough so I had to do it like this. I don't think for a moment that the deals are uncontrolled since I practise normally at a pokertable dealing cards across the table, the only problem was that I could not do that for this clip since the only thing available is a webcam in my laptop. I promise I will make clear crystal cut quality videos sooner or later , done with videocamera's showing multiple angles ( in case you are interested that is). As for the speed. I am not the only one saying that dealing needs to be done fast and that magicians generally deal the cards much too slow (as in a gambling expose or demo). No one less then Walter Irving Scott (The phantom of the card table) said the cards need to be dealt fast (1 second for each card) and that is a rule I strictly adhere to. Ofcourse most depends on the company you are in and I agree to the point that it could be done slower since its a demo oif the move and not a real deal situation. Thanks for your tips and advice. While demoing the move next time, I will do it in a slower pace. I appreciate your advice! Merry christmas to all |

I felt the first video was too fast as well. The new one seemed better. To be overly nit picky, the placement of the deck into your dealing hand seems too precise. If there is any way you can pass the deck in a more casual manor, it would be more disarming.

Well, I'm burning your hands, and you're telling me what to look for. So this is totally over the top, but.... if your thumb could have the tiniest bit more expression. The slightest hint of a bend that straightens on the push, or something. I'm seeing precision mechanics right now. If you were more fluid and relaxed it would be more human.
Again, totally over the top. If you dealt like this to me, there would be no obvious tell. But some of the above (including deck placement) might arouse my suspicion. Very good! -Josh
