My friend Gerard Grey released today one GREAT piece of organic mentalism using your Android Smartphone. A named or peeked playing card, or other piece of information, appears in pictorial format as your phone's wallpaper. Your participant can unlock your phone his/herself to see the predicted picture. A named or peeked playing card, or other piece of information, appears on their phone or computer screen, which you do not touch after learning the info. All they need do is pick up their own phone (set face-down to delay the effect's payoff), or lift the lid on their laptop, or turn on their desktop monitor, to see the prediction staring them in the face. They never see your phone, and this does not require an accomplice. The price is very good and purchasers will receive free lifetime updates, consisting of additional functionality, bonus effects and ideas, etc

Thanks for your kind words, Bietfriek!
I'm always on the look out for interesting applications of technology that enable the performer to work wonders, where the device and applications are simply a means to an end, just like a wallet should be. http://greyhub.blogspot.com/

An HTML5 version of my app PredictionTech, now compatible with iPhones, is now available at:
http://kernow.me/ipredictiontech/ Predict one of an arbitrary number of YouTube videos, Wikipedia pages, news articles, IMDB pages, or indeed anything online that you wish, with an index that can be as large as you can possibly handle. This has been possible for Android users for some time using the PredictionTech app. Now a "universal" version that will work on iPhones is available. There is not a wallpaper-changing, nor a thumper option in this new web app, but the most powerful and direct effect is available for any user of iPhone 3+ whenever they have a web connection, namely: "A named or peeked playing card, or other piece of information, appears on their own phone or computer screen, which you do not touch after learning the info. This takes the form of any web page you like, either one of your own design, or a page from a popular site such as Wikipedia." The original Android app is still available at https://sites.google.com/site/predictiontech/

For Android users of the application only, an update is being sent out tonight to all current users, and will be available to future users: a "virtual Koran's Medallion" effect where the medallion is the image on your desktop wallpaper. This has the three-digit number you wish to predict 'engraved' on it. This effect has the advantage of working in flight mode or in other no-signal situations.

Although I'm biased in regards of cell phone mentalism, the thumper idea sounds very interesting indeed! Curious about reliabilty, 'read'ability and distance issues.

I'm having so much fun playing with the Android version.
Gerard has created something open-ended. It takes a little practice as we all form alpha-numerical characters differently but I am genuinely chuffed at the sheer scope of this app. You may not like this is you worry about being one hundred percent although the app offers an out. I have yet to try it between two phones so cannot comment on distance issues. In terms of 'read'ability, if you mean reading what is there, then it is no problem. If you are referring to folk 'reading' what you've done then Gerard is honest about certain aspects of using the specs phone and the danger of tech heads. I have steered clear of apps up until now because every one I have been shown or had demonstrated on me has made me feel underwhelmed. Part of that no doubt is performers not really performing for other performers, not setting context and generally being overt in their use of the app, however I really like this. I love the idea of a hidden-in-plain-sight t*****r and the ability to use a volunteer's phone. Combined with some staple(s!) items from the mentalism arsenal It becomes downright dastardly and devious. It's like having John Riggs in your pocket.

Thanks ever so much, Anansi!
Nicolino, feel free to PM or email me at the address on my page with any questions about the thumper. A couple of extras have been sent out to users on both platforms with a little something for your watch and ESP-card effects. Also I am currently "harmonising" the manuals for iPhone and Android users; some anti-skepticism measures (and some stuff to make things, er, easier in general), that occurred to me when writing up the new HTML5, iPhone-friendly version, also will apply to Android use. So all those with the Droid version will be updated soon (with the text, no need for a binary update yet).
