Here are a few using items I normally carry:
"A Questionable Trick" from Gregory Wilson’s ‘On the Spot’. "Coin to Key (variation) followed by Gregory Wilson's "Florida Keys". "Much from Little" from Bobos' 'Modern Coin Magic'. "Gadabout Coins" from Bobos' 'Modern Coin Magic'. Gregory Wilson’s "Recap". David Williamson's "Coin in Pen Cap". It really depends on where I am and what is available. |

I second sponge balls and I'm a huge fan of CMH. The latter can be done with borrowed bands at a moments notice.

I honestly don't see sponge balls or the use of cards as impromptu in daily situations but that may just be me.

I always carry a deck of cards and sponge balls with me so that's a natural for me. Also after card trick it's a very strong surprise effect to produce a sponge ball.

Impromptu to me means NO PROPS... no cars, nothing.
So... the absolutely strongest possible is "Ashes through hand."

I have seen Simon Coronel knock out a lay audience with thumb off and other finger tricks. I would imagine Yedid would do it too.

When asked unprepared at restuarants to do magic, I always fall back on the disappearing old salt shaker trick.

Crazy Man's Handcuffs. It doesn't always get "OMGWTFBBQ" reactions, but no other trick produces quite the same grin on a spectator's face.

Packet card tricks. Six card repeat, either gimmicked or with the required cards.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |
