Greetings and Salutations,
This is mostly for St. Louis area performers, but it would be my bad for not posting it here as well as a couple of other forums I hang out at. The reason I say most for St. Louis area performers is because the compensation outside of hat is going to be slim at best, think commuter gas money and a meal at best. The St. Louis Faire is looking for street performer/characters, so, before you ask, yes, your act and clothing must be RenFair/Fest appropriate. If you need to know what that is, there are several threads here on the Café that discuss the topic. Joe Zeman aka The Mage Ulysses St. Louis Renaissance Faire Seeking Lane Performer/Buskers and Stage Acts for 2012 Season The St. Louis (MO, USA) Renaissance Faire at Rotary Park in Wentzville, MO is looking for 6 to 12 street performer/buskers to entertain in the lanes at the Faire this coming May and June, 2012. The Faire is a family-friendly, four-weekend event beginning May 19, running Saturdays, Sundays, and Memorial Day until June 9. We are seeking musicians, mimes, minstrels, magicians, jugglers, balladeers, and assorted variety artists. Performers are expected to provide their own era-appropriate costuming and props. Performers can pass the hat and may receive a small daily stipend, depending on the act. Auditions will be held at the Masonic Hall, 602 Meyer Road, Wentzville, MO 63385, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012; 10 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, January 21, 2012; and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012. The Faire is also looking for 3 to 6 street-theater-style stage acts appropriate for our stages, where the fourth wall is meant to be broken. Be prepared to present five minutes of your act during the audition. For more information, contact performers@renstl.org. |

Greetings,
Hey, no problem! I thought I'd share the info as I know there are some St. Louis area performers that troll these waters, and while it's been posted around St. Louis, sometimes folks don't always find out about these things, so I posted it here, at performers.net, Buskers Café, Sidewalk Café, and, now that I'm thinking about it, I need to post it to a jugglers forum. I think Christophe can even hurl insults in the gujarati language.
Folks walk the other way when they see him, for Fear of ridicule. |

Greetings and Salutations ferrissteve,
Indeed I did! I have performed at that event in its various locations the past several seasons. Most of the time I have been a street performer there, but this past season I moved up to working the stages. Had a blast! Next season stop me and say "hello." It's rare to run into Café members on the streets or in the lanes. Joe Zeman aka The Mage Ulysses |
