Our own Ring 50 Youth Member, Avi Littky tried out for “America's Got Talent” show this past November. Avi Littky, a 14 year old member of the “Counts of Conjuring,” the youth group of I.B.M. Ring 50, Washington, DC was among the hundreds of entertainers that tried out for “Americas Got Talent” on November 5, 2011. When ask what it was like to audition for the show Avi replied that it was a really good experience for him. He explained that “first we [he and his Mom) waited for about 30 minutes just to get inside the theater and fill out the paper work and the audition forms. Next he was ushered into a larger room, were he waited for about 7 hours. Once you got there, they separated each act depending on they type of skill you had. People who were dancers were in one line, comedians were in another line etc. The longest line were the singers. In this room were strolling cameras roaming around the room to do interviews and photograph the hopeful contestants. The longest line were the singers and dancers. About every 45 minutes the producers called 50 people who would go to different room to finally audition for the producers. Avi said that he was glad he was a magician because his line was much shorter. After about 10 minutes, he was sent into a different audition rooms, were he again waited for about 30 minutes. His actual audition took only a few minutes. He was then told that he would be notified in January if he would advance to the next level. Avi performed his routines that included, Disecto, Dove Pan, Vanishing Coke, Appearing 8 ft straw, and an original silk production trick.
