Check this video:
http://www.dougconn.com/movies/flushbrushwmv.wmv http://www.dougconn.com/products.htm This is one of the most amazing routines I have seen. Is it hard to execute? |

They locked that topic (not sure why...did I cross the boundries of net-good taste with the mention of product/advertising? If so, please accept my apologies).
Anyway... Quote: Nah,
Re: Is it hard? A Triumph (or Zarrow) shuffle and a semi-decent faro weave is all the cardmanship you'll need. Thanks for the (unsolicited) good word. Regards, Doug Conn |

Wow Doug, that is really something special. What a beautiful piece of magic!

Doug, I'm not sure the topic was locked. I think they just moved it to another section concerning tricks for sale. I once won a competition using Larry Jennings' effect called "Impossible" and then followed it with Doug's Flush Brush. You can go right from one into the other. You'll be hard pressed to come up with a better closer.

I looked for a section on the Magi-Cafe to mention "Tricks for Sale" but...my search came up empty-handed. Could someone point me to that "zone"??
Thanks. And double thanks for the nice comments, shucks I'm blushing. Doug Conn http://www.dougconn.com |

Doug, is this your handling of the similar routine in Kenner's Totally Out of Control?

This is a great routine that's now for sale for only 5 bucks! I purchased it right away when Doug emailed me and I wasn't disappointed.

Tripwire, it's not that they don't trust you, they just don't want people coming here just to sell stuff. This isn't Ebay. You have to show that you can contribute first. It makes sense to me.

Just saw the demo vid for this and I must say that's one of the best effects I have seen in a long time! Bravo!

Quote: Yup, this is my handling of Kenner's trick (Chris is fully credited in the PDF). In case you're curious, my version is easier (no "riffle stacking"). Plus, I've altered the performance/procedure which makes the effect "simpler".
Doug, is this your handling of the similar routine in Kenner's Totally Out of Control? To others: thanks for the "50 posts" information. (I'm not looking to abuse this site...and have been trying to make helpful posts when I can. Just not up to 50 yet.) Best to all, Doug Conn http://www.dougconn.com |

Thanks for the info Doug. I don't have Kenner's book, but I know the riffle stacking makes his version very difficult. Yours looks interesting.
P.S. I like the videos on your site. You have very clever effects!

Looks great Doug. I just went out to your site and bought it. Can't wait. I can't believe I missed it in the videos section on the TSD website.

Hey Guys,
I just found out a few (actually a bunch) of the links on the Flush Brush page were not working...They've been fixed. If you visited the page and had any problems please return and check it out. http://www.dougconn.com/flushbrush.htm Thanks, Doug Conn http://www.dougconn.com |

Doug
Boy after seeing it performed in the "flesh", makes me want to dig out your book and learn it. It looks great. One question, is the PDF version the same as portrayed in your book or does it have some improvements/extra handlings/tips? As an aside, I would love to see a demo of "Chameleon Sandwich". Thanks, Kurtis |

Quote: I've changed both the handling and the setup. The Flush Brush PDF is a "new and improved" version. (There are no reversed cards in the stack and the handling is more convincing.)
One question, is the PDF version the same as portrayed in your book... Side-note: I performed Flush Brush (#1/as printed in T.O.M.T.) for MANY years and have no problem suggesting you do the same. Both versions "kill". Re: Chameleon/Other videos Paul Cummins/FASDIU press will be releasing a CD-ROM version of Tricks of My Trade (the hardcover book is sold out). This ebook is due mid-late Oct (which actually means sometime in 2006 ). When the project is released, I'll be posting several new online videos featuring routines from the book. I'll let our magi-net-community know when the new online videos (and ebook) are available. That's the scoop, Doug Conn http://www.dougconn.com |

I'm sorry and sad that Doug Conn's Tricks of my Trade is sold out. It's a great book (yes, I did some work on it) and it should be in the library of every thinking magician.
The "Flush Brush" idea is so visual—it's a killer. Matt Field |
